I walked the 1/2 in '08, and got pregnant shortly after. I think with twin infants, any thought of training for the 1/2 again (esp. in our crappy, unpredictable weather) would be tough. But a 10K, psh, that's totally doable!

Anyway, we had been thinking about going to WDW in October anyway, as my grandparents live nearby, and it would give them a chance to see the boys. Plus WDW is pretty baby friendly, so that's a good thing to.

So, please, tell me about the RFTT. Is it as fun as the Jan. 1/2? What can I expect? Is it slow people friendly?

I'd like to aim for some sort of 3/1 thing, and have gotten into week 2 of couch to 5K (I'm repeating each week to help prevent injuries).

We are doing the RFTT this year also as a change of pace we have done the ToT for two years in a row. Never done it before so a new adventure.

I did RftT last year and really liked it and am planning on doing it again this year. I really like running through the parks, gives you something to look at and keep your mind busy! There were 3 food and wine tasting stations at the end but I really only remember the strawberry shortcake because after doing the race, the last thing I wanted to do was eat. Very walker friendly and a cute medal!!

YOW! Remind me to not let my wife walk the 1/2. :lmao:

I ran the RFTT 2 years ago and had fun. It was a great race. I favor the TOT but the RFTT was fun. The food was OK afterward, but don't run it for the food or you'll be disappointed. Cool medal too!

Oh yea, when we did it they offered special deals for admission to the Food and Wine festival. Not having tickets, that was a benefit to us.

enjoy,
Duane

We are going to do it this year as a change of pace from ToT. Never really got any benefit from post race party at ToT and getting close to $100 for a 13K....

I like Race for the Taste better then TOT. (Sorry, but a 'special' party with $4 cans of coke and lots of sweaty runners didn't do much for me LOL!)

It's not near as big as the half, but it's a fun event! I would like to do it this year, but I think the boyfriend is doing a big marathon that weekend and wants me to watch (Chicago or NY? I don't remember!)

Why thought we might stay at the Beach Club this time.

I am doing RFTT! 10k sounds like a good distance to me, the medal is cute, and we love Food and Wine festival. I'm sure we won't do the booths right after the race, but as annual passholders, we'll be back later that day. :)

All the Disney events seem pretty walker-friendly. Plus, October is a great time of year to be in Florida.

I've never done RftT. I mentioned something to DH about it if he was thinking about an Oct trip. Not certain if we'll get it this year due to my spending. I've done ToT. It was fun for us.

$4 for a Coke. I may have to re-think this a little.

I am also thinking of doing the RFTT. I haven't made up my mind yet as I need to check the finances but it sounds like it would be a lot of fun!!
