I might have misunderstood - early entry question

We are leaving tomorrow for US/IOA and we are staying at the Royal Pacific Resort. I understand that we are able to enter the park earlier than posted opening time. I thought it was for both parks, but I think I'm reading from you guys that it is just IOA and only for Harry Potter. Please clarify.

My family will be very upset if I get them up early to for an early entry to US and we can't get in!!!

Onsite guests receive early entry into IOA and WWoHP only...not the Studios.
