I met Tinker Bell!!!

How very AWESOME:thumbsup2

Great pictures too !!
Thought you might like to see this picture. Its the 1st, "REAL TINKERBELL", Margaret Kerry Wilcox, who Walt used as the model actress for the movie Peter Pan.

She's on the left side (not the pudgy one on the right:rotfl: )

She is as fiesty as she appears and in her 70's. We had a great time together, had lunch, and she spoke of working with Walt and even Marilyn Monroe. A great memory for me..

Sorry about the quality of the photo...

We attended the 2pm Saturday viewing of the movie and we had the best time! I felt like they really appreciated us being there. They let us each pick a movie snack as we came in (typical movie snacks: Good n plenty, m&m's, sno caps, even fruit) and they didn't bug me about taking a bunch of pictures. But they were very strict about no picture taking/movie taking during the movie. They even had two police officers there walking around the crowd during the movie making sure no one took video. Then afterwards when the producer, screenwriter and director were speaking to the crowd, you could take photos again. We even got a goodie bag as we left! It was a plastic tinkerbell cup and a glowing tinkerbell pin!
I know it's alot of pictures but I hope you enjoy!
some of the pictures are blurry because I was afraid of using my flash, but then everyone was anyway.

Great pictures - thanks so much for sharing!

Did they re-do the whole queue for all the doors in toontown or was that a different spot in the one picture?

How very cool, the pics are great, love the info about the original Tink. We have another year to wait, don't know if my heart can stand it.

How great is that? They are all so pretty! Really looking forward to seeing them in person.

That is awesome! Thanks for sharing the photos!! The fairies are so pretty. I can't wait to see them when I go WDW :)

That's so cool! I would have loved to be there. I'm glad you enjoyed the event.

How do we find out about these events? I don't see this info on the official WDW site (unless I missed it). I guess we just keep an eye around the message boards? Help! :confused3

Has it been confirmed that this is a permanent meet-n-greet? On another Tinkerbell thread a while back, someone had posted that the Tinerbell meet-n-greet was only temporary, like maybe for a few months or so.

Few things are permanent at WDW. But it will definitely be around for more than a few months. :)

Call me clueless but when/where can we meet tinkerbelle? We'll be there mid Nov.

They should have these girls be friends with the princesses! They're so pretty and sometimes the princesses are a little....yikes! :)

Fantastic! I can't wait until we get to meet them. We are going next fall. I just can't imagine Disney not keeping the fairies around for a while. I feel this is going to be as big as the princesses. My oldest has read each and every fairy book. She has become a fairy expert so to say.

There was a "Theme Park Rangers" blog entry about this on the Orlando Sentinel site, too:

Yeah they have very quietly built a HUGE line completely based around these fairies. Plus, this dvd is only the first in a planned series of at least 4. (I bought one of the big hardcover books that was written by the woman who wrote Ella Enchanted and the illustrations are amazing!) The Disney stores in malls near me have entire alcoves dedicated to the fairies with clothing, costumes, accessories, toys, housewares, books, etc. I don't see them going anywhere anytime soon.
They'll at least be out for a year to keep promoting the releases of the dvds I think.

ARGH!! Those pictures are SOOOO cool!!

Just gotta keep counting down the days until 2010 :lmao: I bet she'll have gone back into 'fairy' hiding by the time I can meet her!! :rotfl:
