I may be the only one.. but I HATED using a stroller in WDW!

My kids are only 2 and 3 so I figured a double stroller was an absolute must.

We just got back from a trip and well... the stroller was our biggest headache.

We had originally planned on renting, but when the prices went up we decided to bring our own.

Poor DH was so frustrated with it in the airport. The boys didn't want to ride so he carried it through the airport and we gate checked it.

We stayed at Pop and it was the biggest pain on the buses. Seriously... worse than I imagine. The people with singles that folded up umbrella style seemed ok... but the doubles are big and aiyiyiyi... It probably made it worse that we had two young children that needed help on the bus and one of us was tried up with a stroller.

Then at the parks... the boys didn't want to sit in them. So we would end up parking it and not coming back to it for several hours and then going to get it only to move it to a new area.

A couple time my little one wanted to be carried... but it wasn't often.

The last 3 days of the trip we just left the stroller in the room.. lol We were sick off it. We send it on with our luggage to be checked so we wouldn't deal with it on the way home.

So there is my opinion... renting I don't think would have helped us much more. The times the boys were willing to ride was walking up to and leaving the parks and we wouldn't have had a rental then anyway.

I agree!!! Ours was a pain. We were there the exact same time you were!!! Mine are 2 and 4 years old. We brought it for the 2 year old but our 4 year old rode in it more than he did!! We checked ours with the luggage as well, on the way back. It was too much of a pain. I am glad next time we go we won't need a stroller!!!!!!

Obviously there are times when you absolutely need a stroller at the parks. During those years, I appreciated the stroller for the extra storage space for non-baby stuff.

This year we didn't need a stroller and how I dreaded not having one to carry the extra stuff. Let me tell you, though, it didn't take long for me to realize the beauty of being stroller-free. No folding/unfolding at the trams and car. No tracking it down after exiting an attraction. No giving DH a flat-tire with the front wheel.:rotfl2: No space for DMIL & DSIL to pile ridiculous amounts of cookies, crackers, drinks, ponchos, etc. Pure freedom. Amen.

I'm with all of you! The stroller did become a hassle. Two days of struggling with a stroller and a packed bus made us want to drive to the parks the rest of the week. Parking is free if you stay at Disney, assuming that you have a car of course. This was so much easier for us and actually ended up with great parking spaces. We never even used the tram.

I can see OP's point re double strollers on the buses. We take our double jogger to disney every single trip and we absolutely LOVE it. However, as you can see by my sig, we avoid resorts where our only option is to take a bus. Not that a bus doesn't work for us, but it's simply not as easy and relaxing as when we can walk, monorail, or boat to a park.

I must take our double jogger as well...it provides much more room for my 4 and 5 year olds! The double umbrella stroller is SO frustrating to me :furious: the girlz feet continued to get in the way of the wheels, it's not wide enough for them to become comfortable, does not provide sufficient relief from the hot sun and it does not recline enough to allow the girlz some much needed relaxation!
We will be staying at the POP and I am going to have to use bus service....trying to save cost by not renting a car! :scared1: As a single mother, I sure hope other DIS vacationers understand my efforts to provide my girlz with the Magical Experience of Disney :tinker: ....a double jogger stroller is a MUST for us!
:teeth: :teeth:
