Ever since getting back from our first Disney trip with our 3 year old son this past October all any of us could talk about was going back to Disney. Well...2010 looked out because we are taking a cruise with my folks in November and we are having our kitchen redone in January so time and money are not on our side.

Well, after figuring out our budget it turns out we do have enough for a Disney vacation thanks to some cheap $62.00 one way airfare and the 4/3 deal going on right now. STILL...it is a lot and we really did just get back. But I couldn't stop obsessing about a surprise trip. And I do mean OBSESSING. Every day I would check airfare to see if the price went up; read trip reports and other posts on the dis, and visit the Disney website to see if there was still availablity for the dates I wanted. I even went so far as to call my husbands boss to see if I could arrange for him to have that time off from work.

Well, today I just went for it. I hit the BUY button and it is a done deal. We will be at POR from Jan 28th until Feb 4. It may be crazy and I'm sure some of my family and friends will let me know that they think I am nuts, but I feel so happy and i can't stop smiling. Now if I can just keep this secret until Christmas day.

Just needed to share with people who will understand how I feel.

Have a great Christmas eveyone.

I just love the BUY button. If it puts a smile on your face and warms your heart so be it. It does it for me too.:santa:

That's very cool! Congrats on that fun surprise. Let me just say it can be even worse when you have an AP and DVC points to use and try to find lots of fun "reasons" why you need to get back to Disney. ;) I just back from DL, leave for WDW in less than a month, taking my wife for our anniversary in March and exploring options for the fall... I was just checking airfare today for a couple of different possibilities. I'm happy for you, and hope you can keep your secret til Christmas! :santa:

Congrats! We are excited for you. I think that the planning of the Disney trips is just as addictive as taking them... :)

Way to go for it!! WHen will you tell the family? Now you've got me thinking...

THANKS! You guys make me feel all warm and fuzzy! :grouphug:

I managed to not spill the beans to the hubby last night but man I hinted around like crazy. Hee hee. "boy, I sure would love to go back to Disney"; "a nice winter vacation would be nice this year"; "I would like to have Micah's next haircut be at the disney barber". His response was that if we couldn't do it next year to stop talking about it because it was making him really really want to go. :thumbsup2

I found a vintage Donald Duck book at an old second hand bookstore (his fav.) and I think I am going to stick the trip confirmation in the front page of the book. That or stick it in his stocking. Who expects a Disney trip to be stuck in a stocking.

And yes, I agree 100% that planning the Disney trip is as much fun as actually going.

And if my Christmas Surprise gave anyone else ideas....YAY GO FOR IT. Life is short so eat cookies and go to Disney! Hit that "Buy" button and lets all celebrate!
