I made almost $200 at a yard sale!

My neighboring town had a community yard sale and I made $187 selling only kids clothes and shoes! Well, my daughter's clothes and shoes. I was completely shocked that I did so well! More money for our trip in June!

We had a township-wide yard sale last weekend and we were just hoping to at least make back the money we paid for the yard sale permit ($10) and some extra spending money and we did much better than we'd expected. Plus, we have gotten rid of a lot of stuff!

OP, what did you price the clothes at?

Our subdivision yard sale is coming up and I'm cleaning out closets. I've got lots of girls' 4, 5, 6 dresses (Gymbo, Ralph Lauren, Hartstrings, Hanna Andersson) in great condition and I was thinking $3-5 each? What about my Ann Taylor clothes that no longer fit (sigh...)

And lastly, what would you charge for small to medium brand new Coach leather purses? Probably not real Coach...bought them in Korea 10 years ago, put them in storage, forgot about them. Perfect condition, apparently the only difference between these and "real" is the clasps are a lower quality bronze, but they are beautiful leather. I have no idea what to sell them for...I'm not a purse person, don't know why I bought them in the first place, but it's time to clean out!

Kids books, 50 cents?

Everything was priced $10 and under--tee shirts for $1 (unless they were name brand tees), jeans $3, skirts/skorts $2. I sold outfits for either $4 or $5. But Gymboree sets were priced higher of course. Kids books, under $.50 and under.

I guess I would sell the purses for between $20 and $25. Expect people to haggle with prices. I didn't mind at all because I just wanted all of that stuff out of my house!
