I love you all, but Ohana is NOT an Irish Pub!

Forgive my rant, fellow dis-ers, but this just kills me every time I see it in print.

It's called Ohana. It's a single word. It's not called O'hana, or even worse, O'hana's, Ohana's, O'hanna, O'hanna's, or even Oh, Hanna's!

For that matter, it's Boma. It's Jiko. It's even Barnes and Noble, not Barnes and Noble's.

I realize I have a little too much time on my hands today.....

Whew. That felt good. :woohoo:

The word is actually O'hana - which means 'family' in Hawaiian. The apostrophe is correct... just like Hawaii is really Hawai'i

Aloha!

Aloha!

It's NOT O'hana nor is it Ohana as the OP posted - it's 'Ohana

Yep, even at disney's website it is listed as 'OHANA so even the OP was wrong.. lets rant on that. j/k :teeth:

Point taken. What I meant is exactly what I said in the title though. When people write it as O'hana, or put an apostrophe at the end of every restaurant, it completely changes it, don'tcha think?

All in good fun, people....

Ohhh-you made me feel so stoopid (I mean stupid) :rotfl2: I went and changed my posts (they ones I could find) to 'Ohana. :thanks: again. :goodvibes

Oh, and correct me if I'm wrong (I'm sure you will ) but 'Ohana's is correct if your speaking of something that belongs to them, such as O'hana's skewers are (to me and mine) dried out and tough.

This half-Irish girl had O' and Mc added to her name on almost a daily basis growing up!! BTW, I haven't tried O'hana's, but I have been to Jiko's, and I frequently shop at Barnes and Noble's, Walmark, and Penny's!

And while we're at it, there's one that drives me insane!!! It's dining, not dinning. There are only two, not three, ns. We're going to become highly sophisticated, technologically supreme illiterates if we're not careful.

While we are at it, let's not forget the differences between their, there and they're!! That is the one that drives me batty.

Maggie

I've said before that I think they should have named Raglan Road O'Hanna's just to confuse everybody.

This thread is a riot :rotfl2: Gotta love people who make fun of other people for misspelling the name of a restaurant when in reality, they are both equally wrong :lmao:

Add your and you're, loose and lose. It's amazing how many people use those incorrectly as well.
