I love Southwest Visa!

No pre-boarding for families with small children anymore. Families with children 4 & under board between the A and the B boarding groups. And if I'm not mistaken, it is only for immediate family. So the entire clan cannot board in that slot just because little cousin Boo is 4 years old.

Yes, that's what I meant by early boarding. The other airlines rarely do it anymore, which is unfortunate. Considering that when I check in right at the 24-hour mark for SW and get a number at the upper end of the A boarding group anyway, I'm content with this version of "early boarding." =)

That option is still better than our last experience with American. There were only single seats available when our flight was booked, and AA customer service just said that we could ask people to change seats with us when we got on the plane. Like anyone would want to sit next to a 3 year old they didn't know, or a parent would allow that to happen! It made for a stressful experience leading up to the flight.

It definitely made me appreciate SW even more and I love my Rapid Rewards points!! <3 <3

Just signed up DH for a card! Finally taking DD12 (and me) on our first trip! I've been a long time member dying to go to DW but haven't been able to make it until now. We're planning a trip for June 2013 and were going to drive....until I calculated the cost to drive vs flying and THEN saw this offer from SW. Can't wait!!

I wish SW flew out of our airport. We got the credit card but can't really use the rewards for tickets :( I'm still deciding on the best gift cards to use them on LOL

I wish they would come to our local airport, but for now we drive 200 miles to fly them. Kind of a hassle, but definitely a savings, even with gas and parking that we could avoid closer to home.

Great job! :thumbsup2

Don't forget that you can continue to earn Rapid Rewards even if you cancel the card. Check the Partners page in the "How to Earn" section of the Rapid Rewards website. You don't have to use a Southwest CC to make purchases through the RR shopping portal or when you eat at RR Dining locations.

I switched my electric provider and got an extra 12,500 RR points for doing it (5,000 of those points were a bonus for having the SWA CC.) I will also get 1 pt. for every $1 spent on electricity through the provider.

Sign up for the Rapid Report and Rapid Rewards Newsletter and get 250 points for each.

And check the SWA section on flyertalk.com often to see if there are any new offers that can add to your point total.

Thanks! I just signed up for the $99 annual fee SW card today.

For those looking, here is a link to the SWA section of flyertalk:

In spite of some ups and down, Southwest has continually led the pack as far as being consumer oriented. Probably that's why they've been so successful...
I took advantage of the 50,000 offer for $69, and will be continue to be a happy SW customer because of that and a lot of other things they do differently than other airlines.

Yep. My wife is a big packer, so we bring more than 1 checked bag per person. That makes Southwest the best option when the prices are the same between them and some other airline. But usually, Southwest is lower to begin with. They get my business, if there is anything close to an acceptable flight option.

Also, I've read on another thread that the 50,000 offer is no longer available. Not sure if true. I got mine 13 days ago.
