I LOVE OKW, but...

my family really wants to try BCV. I know it will be beautiful and convenient to EPCOT, but I really love the relaxing feeling I get from OKW.

We just stayed at HHI so they are really itching for a BIG Disney experience not a relaxing one. UGH We have never stayed at BCV.

my niece and brother will agree with you.

since sold OKW for BLT - they don't have a choice. This is the first trip that my DB and DSIL are going to another DVC resort other than OKW.

they are going to AKV and BLT. So to say the least they have not been overjoyed at the news.

but change is what life is about. You might find you like BCV. who knows it may be the beginning of your experience new things.

So, you let the family take the brief walk to EPCOT, and have a blast there... and you go down to SAB and float around the continuous floating loop in the pool. You don't have to do a thing... just float around and around. Total relaxation. Just get yourself some noodles and you can float the loop for ever, and relax.

We all need something different... decide to do that. Not every day, but as needed.

Nothing worse than an uptight parent managing a situation in a place they don't want to be.

You can work it out. Everyone will be happy.

OKW is also our fav resort but we have stayed at other resorts as well. Last year we stayed at BCV and loved it. Personnally we found it a resort of two halves. The 'hotel' part we found quite busy but the villas was the opposite very relaxing. It was nice to get the boat over to boardwalk in the evening also. You should find it easy to find a good balance if you do stay at BCV.

Love OKW and have stayed at many of the other resorts. The size, conv. to get around. Bus stops are close, take boat to downtown or just to walk to downtown. All is very easy and comfortable. Love the total atmosphere that OKW brings to us. Will be home soon/

I love OKW too, and I've tried the others as well. What I found is that location means nothing to me, but the size and convenience of the villa itself does. Even when I'm at my second DVC home of AKV, I still want it to be like OKW.

That would be me too. In my 14 years' membership (2 or 3 trips a year) the only other WDW resort we've stayed at is BWV, where we also own a few points. Usually though, those points end up being used at OKW too After a couple of days with the Boardwalk View, we're ready to go 'home' to OKW.

The beauty of DVC allows us to experience all other resorts. We own at OKW and its the only resort we never want to stay in again, thus the reason as to why we are buying at BWV.

My wife and I are OKW and VWL fans. I've stayed at BLT and find it to be very hotel-like. If you are big on the MK you can't beat the location! OKW and WL seem to have more of an atmosphere. We do like the Beach club for its proximity to Epcot though.

I actually don't prefer OKW. I don;t like needing to take a bus around the resort.

We own at VWL, but I have to say, I love, love, love OKW. We rent a car so transportation is usually not an issue and the parking is very convenient.

I'm right there too - have a 1 BR sv at BWV next month and am second guessing not being at OKW. Really love my big balcony and the boat to DTD. Hope I will like the convenience of being near Epcot and HS as much.

hope you do. sold okw to buy blt - just because love being able to walk back and forth to the mk....

definitely don't like the BLT studios- while loved the ones at OKW. that say being able to get to the MK in 7 minutes or less - definitely worth it for me.

I am a BCV owner and love the resort for it's location. I'm not a big pool person so SAB is not that big a deal for me, but it is by far the best pool on property IMHO.
The convenience of two parks so close.
I like the proximity to a large and diverse number of restaurants, from sports bar to signature dining, without even giong into EPCOT. The nightclubs at Jellyrolls and Atlantic Dance. The entertainment at night on the boardwalk.
There is so much within a 10-15 minute walk from BCV.

After seeing OKW for the first time, I vowed I would never want to stay there, to big and to spread out.
Well it is now my second favorite resort, I absolutely love staying there, especially if I can get a HH location (which I haven't had a problem getting yet even at 7 months) hope I don't jinx myself. The parking is super, love hanging out at The Gurgling Suitcase, the short drives to Epcot, MK, DHS and DTD. The rooms are huge and the points are low, and the overall theming of the resort is super.

If I didn't own BCV I would definitely own OKW. I now know why so many members love this resort.

When you own at BCV you have several advantages....One is obvioius, SAB, the best pool of any of the resorts!

The other is this, the benefit of having Epcot at your back door.....not for the park for for the DINING!!!!!!! No buses and an easy 5 minute stroll to your dinner reservations.

No buses....no leaving 1 1/2 hours early to get there on time.....which means either more park or R & R time.....It is a HUGE benefit!

We love the pool but find the benefit of being so close to Epcot for the dining the biggest plus! You save SO much time it is unbelievable!

We love BCV, and think it is relaxing. The beach, the walk around the lake, and the boardwalk are all slower paced than the parks. We love being able to pop over to WS to stroll around "europe", or sit down for a nice lunch with a myriad of restaurant choices.

We stay at OKW most of the time, although we have been to other resorts. We enjoy the space and quiet of the OKW villas rather than the hotel atmosphere of other resorts.
