I should have switched the whole week instead of just the first two days. I wish we could stay instead of moving to BWV on Friday. Not sure how to post photos on my laptop (sorry). We have a nice view of the castle and space mountain. It is beautiful and the shower is to die for.

I did post one from my phone to the tikiman facebook page. We are going to go try to get into Trader Sam's now.

Gah! I'm not on fb and desperately want to see! What room number are you? Are you third floor? Are you near the elevators?

We have an upcoming reservation as well. Not at all familiar with the Poly long houses. Can anyone tell me how many floors in the DVC buildings? We have a lake view which I think means Moorea. Are there balconies or patios for every room? Balcony is critical for me. What would I put in a room request?

You don't have to signup for facebook to view it. Google Tikiman facebook. His facebbok page is at the top of the search results.

3 floors in each longhouse. Everyone believes the lake views are all in Moorea.
First floor rooms are patios, so request upper floor.
DVC longhouses have balconies on 2nd and 3rd floor.

Thank you so much! Looking forward to a few days away. M

Can you please let me know if you can see/hear the EWP from the studio lake views?
Thank you very much!

I would love to know the EWP answer too!!! Have fun first though!

I will refrain from posting the room # until we switch to BWV tomorrow! Last night we watched Wishes from our balcony and it was great. We saw the EWP but not when it was right here--it was hard for me to tell if it was in front of VGF or regular GF. We had a travel day and we got to MK at 7 this morning so I was in bed by 10. DH stayed on the balcony for a while. It is very relaxing watching the castle and the tiki torches burned all night long on the path in front of the longhouse. The paths that are completed are lovely with new benches and landscaping. There is "ambient noise" at night if your door is open--you can hear the boat horn and the train at MK. I didn't have a problem with it and when the door was shut it was hardly noticeable. YMMV.
One thing about the balcony--the furniture is perfect. The chairs lean just the right amount to be very relaxing. Some balcony furniture at WDW is not worth the time to sit on, but I would love to have these on my own back porch.
The ONLY glitch I have had is that the TV does not get the "Disney" stations"--the resort stations, must dos, DVC commercial, etc. They are programmed but the TV says it's a weak signal. That's all I wanted to see of course. The regular channels were fine. I'm guessing there is a blip in the satellite programming or something with the new setup.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, we were discussing what locations would be OK if we were unable to get lake view (there will be some parking lot views in Pago Pago which won't be too great). This was our first resort we ever stayed in way back in 2000, so we have a soft spot for it. This was a surprise for DH and he was totally clueless and loved it. I told him on the way to the ME bus (he didn't even notice our luggage tags said MK--it's been a busy few weeks at home). I really wish the lava pool was open--they are saying tomorrow which would be my luck. The quiet pool was OK today but dull.
Oh and Trader Sam's? Fun but watch out because those drinks will knock you on your behind. We went over there yesterday about 3:30 and were about #30 to get it at 4. Now I have a couple of souvenir mugs to clog up my cupboards further!

Are you on the top floor? I can't imagine seeing much from a first floor room.

And any issues with the Ferry boat? I guess you were gone before they started! But maybe tomorrow morning. :goodvibes

Yes we are on the third floor. I can hear the boat horn but with the door shut it's not too bad. We are taking the ferry back to Mk in a bit. We took the launch back from MK at noon and we were the only people on it!

We were also on the 3rd floor Moorea and had the disney channels just fine so maybe just an intermittent issue? We were room 3045 which is standard view.

Thank you for posting! I am very much looking forward to our August stay!

It was a TV issue. They came right up and fixed it. It was a loose cable. The repair guy said they contracted out all of the wiring and a couple of things have been loose here and there. When did the DVC channel get the commercial with the puppet? I don't remember it in October.

HOPE that you are having an AWESOME TIME!:goodvibes CANNOT WAIT to see pics of the lava pool! :Pinkbounc ENJOY your vaca!:thumbsup2

Since you are there now and can see the construction.
I will be there the 14th
I did request Moorea. I have standard veiw. So how bad will my veiw be.

And is the quiet pool open?

And how does the lava pool look as to opening. Does it look close?

Also. Did they offer you typhoon lagoon passes. And if so. Just for one day or for the length of your stay.

I am so upset about the lava pool. I am taking my sister for the first time to disney. She is not getting a park pass and just wanted a week to lay by the pool.

I had AKL booked. And switched to the poly. Because the pool would be done.
Any info would be great.

Thanks
Amy
