I LOVE my new car

Well, we got it at the end of August. A 2004 Subaru Forrester. Driving through this winter while the snow was flying was a delight. It has AWD and ABS brakes. Being a born and bred New Englander, my winter driving skills are pretty good, and this car just made it a lot nicer.

Now, this morning, it was BUCKETING rain, I mean pouring down rain, cats and dogs. Well, driving was a bit dicey, and this car just goes where I point it, and I always feel like I am in control. Got to try out the ABS this morning too. Worked like a dream!

Anyone considering a small SUV type vehicle, do yourself a favor, and give the Subaru a try, you may be pleasantly surprised!

I don't have a Forrester. We have a Chrysler 300 M and a Ford Explorer BUT....My DH's partner has a Forrester. He chose it for convenience and safety reasons. It turned out to be a very good decision. On his way home from the hospital where he works a drunk (uninsured) driver ran a red light at a high rate of speed. The side airbags deployed and saved his life. He ended up going back to the hospital on a back board but later that night he walked out the front door. I am glad you LOVE YOUR CAR!!

Glad you love the car. DH and I have a 2001 Forrester and love it as well. I'm secretly hoping my civic dies so we can replace it with another Forrester.

DawnCT--one of the big reasons we chose the Forrester was the safety rating. It crash tests extremely well. I am so glad your DH's partner came away from that accident well.

CEDMom--DH is thinking the same thing about his car now.

When I was looking at cars, I looked at a Forrester and liked it very much. I also liked their Legacy Outback wagon. Unfortunately, both of them were a little "tight" for my DH, who is a tall fella, so we ended up with an Explorer, which I also like very much!
