I LOVE Las Vegas!

I've never been to Las Vegas but have been in their airport and from i've seen and read about Las Vegas it's almost like a Disney park for grown-ups and I don't know why people especially seniors have an obsession with Las Vegas but it ranks as the top getaway for adults and seniors. The only Nevada city I have been to three times is Reno and Reno is cool but for some reason people prefer Las Vegas over Reno when it comes to visiting Nevada. But I think what draws people to Las Vegas is the hotels and casinos that have shows with singers like Wayne Newton Neil Diamond and others but when i'm watching Youtube they always advertise deals and discounts for Las Vegas hotels and resorts complete with show ticket packages. So I think this is Las Vegas gets most of it's money from commercials to draw visitors for the summer deals. But is Las Vegas better than Reno when it comes to visiting Nevada? Because I think Las Vegas wants to be the number one vacation destination in the whole world

I have never been to Las Vegas. I am not a gambler, so I would not enjoy the casinos. Most of the shows do not appeal to me. Some of the restaurants and shopping sound interesting though. If I ever tried it, I would probably try it just for a couple of days to see if it’s really my thing or not.

I don't gamble anymore. I discovered quite quickly that my "quite whilst you're ahead" button doesn't work, and it cost me. I just enjoy the shows, including the free ones (amazing fountains outside the Bellagio) and the broadway calibre shows (from Penn and Teller to Cirque du Soleil shows). It's fake… but it's a GLORIOUS fake.

I went to Las Vegas for the first time last month. We went for 3 nights and had a good time. We did not gamble at all. Saw Cirque Du Soleil “ O” which was amazing. Walked around the hotels where there is of free things to see ( ie Bellagio Conservatory, fountains, flamingos at The Flamingo etc. ) and had some nice meals. I would definitely go back but probably not over and over again.

I on the other hand absolutely despise Las Vegas. Went in 2017 and gladly said that’s it, never again.

I think Las Vegas is to some people as a "been there done that" type of vacation. Because I can see if you are going there with no kids or are planning a vacation to go there with your best friend Las Vegas has advantages such as shows with stars such as Blue Man Group and Penn And Teller and not to mention the impressive buffets the hotels and casinos have with amazing prime rib and more food. But I think next to Hawaii and Miami Florida Las Vegas is number three in top destinations. But if you have a family I say skip Las Vegas and go to a beach town or even go to Washington DC

Vegas is a fun weekend destination, especially in the winter. It’s nice to get out of the cold for a few days. I don’t gamble but there are great shows, restaurants, and fun things to do for a couple of days. It is not a destination I would take a kid. We have two casinos in CT. I go regularly to eat, shop, or see a show. I don’t think I have gambled at either in 15 years.

I've been to Las Vegas many times. We stay in a one bedroom timeshare with a kitchen on The Strip. The building doesn't have a casino, which I appreciate. I love to walk for miles and miles (sort of like WDW) and just go in and out of all the hotels. Sometimes we go to one show, sometimes not.

Our usual stay is three nights. I love Vegas, but seven nights would be more than I need. Someone told me Vegas is kind of like licking the frosting off the cake -- its great at first, but eventually you don't want anymore. 😋

I really enjoy Vegas, but like almost everywhere else, it isn’t something I’d want to do too often.

I gamble, so I do play a lot of games there but I can do that a lot of places. I go to a Vegas to watch shows, eat, see the lights, walk through the various hotels and casinos, and most importantly to people watch. I don’t know of any other place I’ve been that has a greater variety of types of people.

We LOOOOOOVE Vegas!!! DH is more of a gambler than me. I'm content at a casino bar with video poker machines while he is all about the blackjack table. Still, we enjoy the spectacle that is Vegas...from seeing all of the casinos and catching some shows to walking the Strip and enjoying all the food.

My first trip was 24 years ago (next month). DH and I were just dating at the time, but we went for a friend's vow renewal and it was a total blast. When DH and I were engaged, we got ridiculously stressed out by the costs of a big traditional wedding. We changed plans and shifted the big day to Vegas. We invited everyone on our original guest list and had smaller receptions in our home areas to involve all of our older relatives, but the actual ceremony occurred in Vegas in one of the hotel chapels. We went back every year to celebrate until I found out I was expecting DD15. Yup, even DD17 went to Vegas as an infant!

We made a return to Vegas in 2018. We had traditionally gone during the summer months, but this was our first Christmas trip to Vegas. We also brought both of the kids.

The only thing I really hate about Vegas right now is the nickel and diming. I wish they'd just wrap resort fees into the listed price. Fun story...I think it was 2004 when I found a deal... $203 pp - included r/t air, ground transportation, and 3 nights at what is now the Park MGM. Now I would spend about that for just one night at the hotel. Oh well...things change. Still love Vegas.
