Okay, I dropped almost $150 at Kohls today after I went in planning to spend about $20 on some clearance flannel sheets. :faint: Their clearance is an additional 70% off the yellow ticket price. My best deal by far was a Columbia coat for DD for next year for $15! I don't think I paid over $10 for anything else and got Nike running shoes, boots, sneakers for both kids, two sets of flannel sheets, sweater, t-necks, and tons more.

Nothing beats a good shopping day!

I love Kohl's clearence sales!! Went this morn & I got a coat too, for $12.00! Skirts, sweaters, shirts, even a few baby things to put away for a neice that is pregnant! I always manage to find a lot for the kids & then get tired of shopping by the time I hit the women's section. I have to go again & start backward this time!

I bought us all Columbia coats last year at the Kohls Clearance event. I am the only one wearing mine this year. My older DD's was too big (I bought one size bigger thinking she would grow). My younger DD said hers was too "puffy". I did buy my DH 2 coats (one columbia and one dress coat). He prefers the dress one and wears that all the time. The columbia one still had the tags on it until this past weekend when my SIL visited us in Chicago from Florida and need to borrow a Winter coat. I am hoping they will wear them next year.

Oh well. Even if you add up the price I paid for all 4 Columbia coats, I still got a deal even if I am the only one wearing mine.

I got a Columbia coat on the clearance rack last year too and my 7 year old son says it's too puffy and throws a fit whenever he has to wear it. Lucky we moved to the Atlanta area this summer and he has very seldom had to wear it!

I just got back. $102 I also got DS a columbia jacket for $15 for next year. I also got him 2 pairs of sneakers and 5 t shirts. DH got a fleece and 4 polo shirts. My other DS (who is in mens sizes) got 2 t shirts, 1 pair of winter boots, 1 pair of dress shoes and a winter hat. I never even made it to ladies but I did promise my DD we would go back. I never even thought to look at the columbia coats in adults, I need a new winter jacket.

I know this is off topic but I just had to reply to this! What is it with boys and "puffy jackets" ???? :confused3

I have 3 DS's ages 15, 13 and 8. The oldest 2 REFUSE to wear anything heavier than what I consider to be a Spring/Fall jacket. The 8 yr old wears his nice down jacket only on the coldest days but gives me a hard time about it. We are in NJ and right now the temps are not getting above the low 20's during the day..... and they are worried, not about getting cold, but looking cool ???????
And I've heard, when it comes to clothes, girls are worse! So I've got that to look forward to! :headache:

I spent about $150, but I can't believe how much stuff I got! I even bought myself one little thing that was NOT on clearance.

I don't work on Fridays, so I made today my Kohl's day. We have three stores within 20 miles of my house and I went to all three of them. I needed to do them all on the same day, so I would be able to use my "Pick a Day" extra 10% off coupon.

Crazymomof4 I was laughing reading your post! I have 2 boys (non puffy coat wearers) and I looked out my window this afternoon and it is like 30 degrees and there is ice literally bouncing off the ground make a "tink" sound and I see my boys and their friends laying on the ground all wearing pullover sweatshirts with hoods (at least put the hoods up guys!!!)

Look out for that girl! My youngest is a girl about to turn 4 and we were looking at clothes in the store today and everything I touched, she said "yuck!" Every morning is a debate over what to wear. She has known what "matches" since she was 2! She truly is the princess :wizard:

I went to Kohl's yesterday too...it was the kids first day back to school since last Friday and I needed to get out of the house! Got some great deals on clothes for next year for the kids(they don't need any more new things this year - tons of stuff still in the closet that they don't even wear that often  ) but no winter jackets. I was looking for a Columbia for myself and they only had one rack of women's jackets - none of them Columbia's :sad2: .No good deals on shoes either - maybe I have to get to another Kohl's and see if they have more to pick from.

I've been on a budget kick since Christmas - always nagging DH to save, save , save for our DW trip this summer. So when I came home yesterday with 2 bags of stuff he says I guess we'll start saving next week, huh". He doesn't understand - how can you walk by these prices? ;) $2 for a shirt; $4 for a skirt - I can't leave them there!!!

I had to comment on the kids and jackets (or rather no jackets, lol) my DD15 refuses to wear a jacket - I don't get it. It's January, it's freezing with 3 feet of snow on the ground and all she wears is a hooded sweatshirt. I'm always nagging her to put on her coat (that she had to have BTW) She is always telling me no one else wears jackets - I thought she was making it up!!

Don't even get me started on girls and clothes - my 4 year old is the worst of the three girls!! She has been picking out her own clothes for as long as I can remember. I think she's harder to buy for than the teenager!!!

That's funny. You sound just like me. I tell the family that we're on a "spending freeze". Then I find a clearance sale and my eyes get all glazed over, my hands start to tremble a bit, and every notion I had about not spending just is sucked out of my head. On my way home, with the backseat loaded with huge bags, I remember my resolve and say to myself, "After today, no more unnecessary spending!"

The kids say my middle name is "clearance". But I think people who would spend $40 on one pair of little boy's pants are the crazy ones......I can get the same pants a few months later for $4!!! :smooth:

Oh well, I guess I'm doing pretty good if my only addictions are clearance sales and DISboards! :teeth:

Well I did the clearance thing at Kohl's wow!!!! I came home with 9 winter coats. 1 leather for dh 2 suede for me 1 down filled for me and 5 diff. ones for my 3dd's for next year. They also had flip flops and sandals for 1.50. Even a pair of disney princess ones, a poncho, a pair of sunglasses, 2 pairs of nike goggles, 5 sets of matching hats and gloves for next year, 3 MUDD rolling backpacks For Cruise(Easter presents) couple of turtlenecks for dd's all for $200.

I am so psyched and girls love their new coats so hopefully they will fit next year :cool1: By the way our Kohls was a mob scene so don't delay!!!!!

I also love Kohl's clearance! I got the $20 queen flannel sheets, plus some Halloween decorations for under $3. Got some great clothes for my daughter, one a cute little skort she can wear on spring break at WDW. Also got great deals on fabric tablecloths. I LOVE Kohl's!

Ugh!!!!!
I was so excited about my $200 spree at Kohl's (see above) and don't I go to the mailbox and get TWO pieces of mail from Kohl's a10% off coupon and a 15% off coupon. Do I really have to lug all my stuff back and return it for my $30?

Anyone have any previous experience with how Kohll's handles this? the coupon does say not for use on prior purchases but the sale is still on so should it matter?

Why dont we have Kohls down here in Miami :confused3 I see that they are building one off of Osceola parkway on the way into WDW. Gues I will just have to add it on our trip itinerarys. :)

Kohl's will adjust regular-priced merchandise at the customer service desk if you just bring in the receipt. You don't have to lug in the merchandise. They will not make adjustments on clearance items. The day you buy them is the cheapest you'll get them; that's why so many of us play chicken and wait for the prices to drop! They probably would add the extra discount of one of those coupons, however. Good luck!

I'm so glad I'm not the only Kohl's clearance addict. I was in last week when it was 70% off, and bought DH 5 shirts. So this week when it went to 80% off, I was back again. Actually twice yesterday and once today with DH and DS. They didn't have any boys coats or women's coats left, but DH got a Sonoma jacket for $ 12, 85% off. We got him tons of shirts, flannels for 4.32 and sweater shirts for 8.10.Of course, now reading this thread, I'm ready to go back again and see what I missed. All told, I've spent at least $ 150 this weekend.

Well, I decided to go check out the Kohl's clearance today. I spent about $110. This is what I got:

2 short sleeved polo shirts for DH
1 long sleeve knit type polo shirt for DH
1 adidas long sleeve shirt for me
1 black open crochet sweater for me (for our cruise this summer for dining room)
1 white lightweight dressy ponch for Dd (for dining room on cruise) this wasn't on clearance - only 30% off
2 juniors sweatshirts for older DD
2 pairs PJs for my DDs
1 black sparkly dress shirt for my mom for our cruise for formal night
1 pair slippers (nice!!)
1 poker chips/2 deck cards/dealer shoe (for door prize for a party next week)
1 travel/cosmetics/men's black case with alarm clark (for cruise!!)
2 gift baskets of lotions/shower gel/pouf thing for birthday gifts throughout year
1 pair black mary jane dress shoes for DD (Easter and cruise formal night)
1 nice sweater (nordic print??) for my sister for next Christmas
3 hat/glove sets
2 hats (including one MICKEY)
1 scarf
1 pair pink stretch isotoner gloves
1 pair brown leather isotoner gloves

I think that's it.

lol I was just coming to post about this sale - I didn't know it started yet and I ran into Kohl's for "just a minute" while dh waited in the car. I'll have to go back tomorrow because I couldn't take the time I wanted with him outside but I did get my daughter a beautiful coat for $10. (if she doesn't like it next year I'll donate it - no problem) and I bought myself 3 necklaces for $3.00 each. Hopefully they'll be a couple coats left tomorrow because I'd like to get some more. ;)

I'm so excited.....I bought 10 little jewelry sets....the kind that are silver bracelets, where you add the charm (The Italian bracelet style). There is a bracelet, and 4 charms in a nice gift box, for $2.21 each!!

DD needs to give a gift to each girl on her baton team, at the state championships and the national championships. This was a real bargain, and I think the girls will love them.

I also was able to get 3 scrunchies for her costumes, and they were practically giving them away! (three for .90, and one beautiful velvet one for .80)

I needed to get some new "Dressy" clothes for work, since I start back in our main office on Monday. I bought a new pantsuit, 2 sweaters and a dressy type blouse for $75. While everything I bought was on sale, the blouse and one sweater came to $13. The other sweater was 50% off (still $22) and the suit was 50% off for $40.

I may go back again tomorrow to see what I missed.
