Hello,..I've been once but missed so much....cant wait to go back next year!!

Hopefully you'll be able to go soon. It really is a magical place:)

There is only one way to make this happen. You just do it and worry about nothing:woohoo:!!! I have relatives that are so worried about finances that they have failed to take their children to the happiest place on earth. This is not fair!!! While I am aware of the expense, I'm also aware of how to earn Disney funds throughout the year. Set aside the money and go!!! You can do it! Do you have children? I'm sure there are other disers that would get in my corner and help advise you on how to make it happen. I don't know your reasoning for not making the trip, but in my cousin's case it is selfish ambition:confused3. He's still broke and his kids are still paying the price. Where there's a will there's a way!!! GO FOR IT!!!:thumbsup2

Welcome to the boards. For budget concerns, the values can be a great place to stay. No need to rent a car!!

Umm... not to rain on your parade, lauch, but this is a recipe for ruin. I know people who have followed that advice, who are homeless now. You either take care of finances like an adult, (like YOU and the rest of us do, no doubt!) or they take care of you very unpleasantly.

We've never taken our son either -- or been ourselves -- and we haven't been deprived of anything. It's pretty easy, particularly on these boards, not to remember that most people can NOT afford WDW or DLR, regardless of what they do.

Good luck getting to Disney, marcusjohann81. I hope it all comes together for you. :wizard:

Not to worry!!! You may not rain on my parade:lmao:! Never said be an idiot and loose your home. I said I'd be willing to help make it happen. If people live within their means, the risk of loosing their home is slim and none. The exception to that rule is a health issue or accident. Not going there!!! I'm interested in helping dreams come true. I took two families with our family two years ago and helped them earn the extra money to make it happen. They worked extra hours to earn the money, but their sacrifice bought a lifetime of memories for their families. My cousin was an idiot!!! Lost his home because he was not living within his means:confused3. I'm not trying to fix stupid because you can't. If you want to go and your health will allow it, what is holding you back? I bet the truth is a shorter explaination than the excuse! Positive thinking will produce positive results. Good luck to you!!!:thumbsup2

I was just being cautious. There ARE folks (I had several of 'em under my command in the Army) who would take your advice and run with it -- right off a cliff. Good folks, but just over-enthusiastic. You know, the sort of optimistic fellow who will get a new job paying a little over minimum wage, and go out and buy a new Corvette in celebration. I doubt that marcusjohann81 is one of those people, but it pays to be careful.

Oh, and I know what's holding ME back. I'm a tightwad, with a son in an expensive private university. (They need a smiley for broke.) Once that situation is remedied, and I can get over Disney sticker shock, I'll join the true believers. :dance3:

Again, welcome aboard, marcusjohann81. You're gonna love it here.

Welcome, I hope you get to Disney one day too. When the time is right, I bet it will happen!
