All 3 DSs who are traveling, were waitlisted for two segments of the flight home from Hawaii. Instead of flying on the same plane DH and I are on, they were routed through LAX to SLC to BDL. They had a 7 hour waitlist. They had The waitlist came through and we are now all on the same plane. Prior to that, flight schedules were changed on the outbound and because the changes were incompatible with reality, I now have the flights that I would have paid for, if I had to. ;) Now I just hope they stay the way they are. I know that's impossible because we aren't going until next summer but for now, I am happy. In fact, very happy with Delta.

That would be Delta Air Lines, and yes I love Delta as well!!! ;) It's the only airline I fly!!!!! I'm just hoping all this pilot stuff works out.

Of course you are right. I am just so excited....all over again to have what I consider an almost perfect itinerary. A perfect itinerary would have been to fly out of Maui but I have that covered with my United miles. I hope the pilot issues work out as well.

You wouldn't believe how many news releases I have proofed with Delta's corporate name spelled wrong. That is why it always stands out to me. I couldn't help myself. I'm glad it didn't bother you. :goodvibes Sounds like a wonderful trip!!!!

Oh yeah...is this the same airline that booted my poor husband from his flight Sunday night...opting to take his luggage and leaving him in Atlanta? Is this the airline that made him miss an entire day's user conference for the software he manages for a military base? Is it the same one that gave him nothing but a small overnight emergency kit, no meal or plane vouchers, and got him to his destination nearly 24 hours late?

I do believe it is! Talk all you want, but we're not feeling the love from them...and never have.

No wonder they're bankrupt.

Unfortunately, Delta isn't the only one that ends up with "unhappy passengers". If that were my experience, I wouldn't feel the "love" either but then, on the other hand, I looked at my 250K that I could never have accumulated so quickly with any other airline/credit card program and as much as I griped about the hassles of using those miles, I was able to use them for the time and place and in the class of service I wanted for all five of us for Hawaii. I also read on flyer talk, that Delta makes twice as many award seats available per "air miles" than the other majors. So its good to earn them quickly and its good to actually be able to plan a trip "in this life time" and use them. This will be our family's forth "free" trip to Hawaii. The first two times, six of us went. The last time, DH and I were able to fly first class and have enough miles for the 3 DS's that were traveling with us. The same is true for next summer as well. And right now, Its double miles again for Delta (Amex) Sky miles card.!

That can happen on ANY airline. In fact Dh and I were stranded in IRELAND thanks to Delta, but Delta came through and compensated us in a manner that pleased me. Write a polite letter to customer relations and see what happens. :) Heck it even paid for luggage that was damaged and that is something Delta (and other airlines) specifically point out it does not cover.

And almost every legacy carrier has been through Chapter 11 at some point during the last four years or is currently in Chapter 11.

This reminds me that I want to write Delta and tell them their Zone seating STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What sense does it make to board all areas of the plane at once??? Everyone was stepping all over each other and the line to get on the plane was backed all the way up the jetway.

Rafiki,
I was also in stuck in Atlanta for a while Sunday night. That airport was a zoo. But I guess it's to be expected onthe busiest travel day of the year. Sorry your DH got booted. :(
