I love credit cards so much!

we had a discussion about that as well... the pattern seems to be if u do a mistake on your end is what triggers an FR. ie, u pulled money from the wrong account and got a denied payment(wife did that and got triggered an FR).

Oh interesting. During my Chase recon call they asked about my returned payment. Think I typed the bank account number wrong. So maybe that has something to do with why I needed to go to recon.

I'm not sure that's all. Over the weekend, youngestofallthebuck posted about his FR triggered by doing $12k in 2 days and not answering Amex's call. So :confused3

Amex values high spend, but they're also sensitive to high spend. Like I said, I don't know where that line is.

I was able to product change my oldest card, BoA BankAmericard Rewards card (not sure if this even exists anymore), to the new Cash Rewards card. Now I just have to figure out which category to choose for the higher percent.

So my $1250 Venmo charge to DD went through just fine. It is showing up in Chase now (not in pending status). So, glad about that.

Slowly my brothers are coming around to churning. (well just a little bit). One of them is interested in the SW CP. I swear he pays cash for everything. He has a legit business - he is a contractor and owns a real estate company. I have not totally kept up on SW as I have to wait until the end of the year to go for CP again.

So, am I correct in that he should:
1. Get a RR # from SW
2. Apply for SW Business Card - I believe is at 60,000 points. (DH has this card still can he refer him for this?) I'm assuming he should use his Business Name instead of his name on the application.
3. Then get SW Personal Card - I think there is still a 50,000 link somewhere. (DH has this card too but I believe referral would not be for 50,000 points). And is there a time period to wait after the Business Card.

Then they should get a bunch of points and CP for 2019/2020. The spend will be easy for him with his business.

No referral on the SW biz, but I believe even with a real business it is easier to still use just your own name. Unless, is he using an EIN and not a SSN? Otherwise you will have to jump through hoops to verify business. Someone correct me if I am wrong. Wait until the biz card is approved before moving on to the personal card.

Seems to me the reason for his FR was not calling them back in time...

Took me awhile to find his post haha

Do you still get the BoA deals with that card? I actually have the same Americard and it's also my oldest, I would love to change it to the cash rewards card instead. Didn't know if they'd do a pull on my credit or anything for it. I'm a BoA checking account holder too if that counts for anything.

There's been some buzz about picking up the Green on rumors from DoC about a possible refresh of the product: [Rumor] American Express To Refresh Green Card (4x On Gas, 3x On Streaming & More). Highlights include 4x points on gas purchases, 3x points on streaming services, and possibly Amazon Prime included. There's also a 15k or 20k MR signup bonus: Best American Express Green Sign Up Bonus (15,000/25,000 Points + 20,000 From Referral). I guess there's some concern the AF will go up (currently $95 waived in the first year) or the bonus may change.

Wish I could blow 5/24 for DH and I get this... but I still have a CIU and Hyatt card to go.

Got my BGR! Ooo, first card I have with contactless. I felt like such a country bum without it in Europe, lol.

The cardmember agreement in the packet also says $0 AF first year, which is reassuring since I applied towards the tail end of that "glitch" (if that's what it was).

I don't see myself paying $295 for the AF after the first year. So maybe I need to go hard and fast with AmEx.

Did BoA tell you it would take a couple of weeks for the new card to arrive? I had DH call and pc his Merrill+ to the Cash Rewards card the first week of January and it still hasn't show up. I'm looking forward to trying online shopping to see how that ends up coding.

Oh nice! I applied the same day as you so I hope my card shows up today too!!

That is what I was wondering - if it would be easier to apply with just his name. I'm sure he has an EIN but he probably would not like it if he had to talk to someone. Even though it is all legit.

SO was getting the Popup for Amex. I put a few grand of spend across three of his cards he has 6? cards. I applied him today for the Green card and he didn’t get the popup and got automatically approved. Hopefully, he gets the bonus.

Fingers crossed! Let us know because there's the chance of the "no pop up denial."

Congrats on getting in under the wire on that waived AF!!

Probably easiest to apply name and SS number....it seems with an EIN you have to fax Chase the IRS EIN Welcome letter

DH signed up for a Prime Trial and they gave him a code of $15 off $30 (shipped and sold from Amazon). Do you think this could stack with the Amex deal?

OK thanks. Applied and pending. I guess my dream last week about instant approval didn't work!
