I love credit cards so much!

I honestly had the same thought! I just wrote out all the payments I have to make in Jan and I have 19 cards with payments due :scared: It's really hard to keep track of all these payments. I'm actually excited to get to close quite a few cards this year.
I have spreadsheets but it actually helped me visualize and keep track to print a calendar page and write the card and balance due on each date. Then I can look at what is due each week, pay checks, mortgage etc. I have 20 cards, mortgage, car payment and electric bill which has no autopay or prepay option.

I'm going to assume all of you with multiple cards have a billtracker app. If not I recommend getting one. For nearly 22 years my ex handled all the finances. Then I had to put my big girl undies on and do it. I got an app and it saves me! I also had to figure out how to balance due dates. Gone were the days of one of us getting paid every week. So I wrote down every pay day I had for the next year so I could balance when my CC's we due vs my mortgage, etc.

Adulting is fun, LOL.
Which app? I have not found one that I can use for all accounts

With the new Chase offers, I see that Staples is 30%; however there is a disclaimer that says no third party sales.
Does this mean gift cards would be excluded? I’d plan on going and getting $75 worth of gift cards and some printer paper to max it out...

Quick help. I have a Master Card Gift Card for $200 that I have been holding onto, that I got from Dish this year. I just looked and it expires 1/19, yikes, so now I have to spend it asap. I know I could buy some target/chipotle etc gift cards (at least I think I can??), but would it work to buy another Visa gift card with this, so I can not have to decide right now what way to spend it? I know the $200 balance won't cover the fee, is there a way/place I could buy this way, and use another card to cover the fee?

Thanks!
Will you be buying gas and groceries and household supplies before 1/19? Could easily just use for that and save the cash. Just a thought.

I did staples a couple days ago. Will let you know if the offer posts. I had 10% and 30% both on all 3 cards.

Not $200 in 2 days. Dh just filled the cars and I use my RedCard to save the 5% on all groceries, etc. If I absolutely have to, I will just get a Target GC or something, but I hate to lose the 5%.
I should note it's also run as credit, it says it can't be run as a debit.

DH was just approved for the SW Priority! His credit limit is nearly 5x the cl for the SW Biz, which seems crazy to me!

I’ve had the same thing happen..Chase seems to give lower credit limits on their business cards and...to me very high credit limits on their personal...I’ve always reduced them

Right now I'm leaning towards a plan of canceling my old no fee Arrival, applying for CIC, and then applying for Arrival Plus in a month or two. Also planning to downgrade my CSR into a Freedom in January.

I just double checked my credit limits on my Chase cards to make sure my spreadsheet was accurate. Before we got married we just used our own personal income for cc apps, then switched to combined income, which I think helped keep our limits artificially low at the beginning (that's gone now - DH got a $24k limit on his SW Priority last month :faint: I'll lower that soon). The only one I've used combined income on was my CIP app.

9/16 Disney $4.5k
10/16 CSR $13k
5/17 SW Plus $12.5k
5/17 SW Biz $5k
9/17 Marriott Personal $6.5k
9/17 CFU $2k
10/18 CIP $10.5k

So before my CIP, I was around 50% of my personal income, but now with the CIP, I'm at around 35% of household income. Any thoughts on if I should lower any?

Simply with the way Chase treats credit limits lately, I'm a proponent of slashing any credit you aren't using. On my Chase cards that are essentially sock-drawered, my limits are $1k or $2k. The CSR on your list especially sticks out as one that could be lowered especially once you downgrade - but it is useful to keep at least $10k of "movable" credit in case you ever want to upgrade back to the CSR.

35% your probably fine.....I’ve lowered the CL on the cards I really don’t use to $1,000....I’m probably at 10-15% of household income......

Giftcards dot com is having a fee-free visa special right now. I'm not sure if they'll accept your gc as payment, but it's worth a try.

Yeah, I definitely don't need a $13k limit on a Freedom. The SW cards are on the chopping block for next year though, and maybe the Marriott... and maybe the CIP, definitely either mine or DHs if not both. Decisions, decisions...
