We’re going the end of October too! We are staying at pop and bc. Never stayed at bc before so that’ll be fun! We went in July from Thursday to Sunday with 3 hour flights. It was totally worth it but it would’ve been a lot better if we didn’t get picked up by dme at 3:30 am after dah.

Love the BC - we've stayed there a few times and it's just so close to Epcot and has that great pool. Enjoy! :cloud9:

No, no, no I do not like 40s and 50s with or without rain/snow. I tell you, this definitely is not my first choice! Or 2nd, 3rd..... Three of us are coming from East coast area and 1 from Colorado. They say we are already wearing winter clothes so what difference does it make. Umm, I want to escape the winter for a few days! I hate cold. We haven't all 4 been together in awhile, so no definite plans, but anything cheap is good for 2 of us. We would def be more the museums/ hiking type. Maybe spa or shopping.

If you don't want the cold then don't do SF in December either. It's warmer than Seattle but you'll still need a heavier jacket, not just a wind breaker. Napa will be warmer but unless you just want to do the spa and tour wineries there's not as much to do there.

I agree with the others about Arizona. I have friends that have done girls weekends in Phoenix or the surrounding area. Or San Diego or Palm Springs. Though I think Arizona would be the cheaper option. SF and Seattle will only kind of be because it'll be off season. NOLA would be the other suggestion that others put out earlier.

ETA the 40s/50s in Seattle is the highs, the lows are in the 30's, I should probably mention that part.

That is such an oxymoron to me. Lol. Hot and nice don’t belong in the same sentence. Sedona was beautiful but I preferred the temps in Flagstaff in June. Scottsdale in December should be good

Well the drinks by the pool brought by the waiter might have tainted my perception....a little. LOL! I will say too, coming from the South, the dry heat was much more tolerable than the sweaty humid temps we have. But it was like surface of the sun hot.

The website is more clear on the debits (I was using the app) but I have one real DD and one push from CapOne and they look different. The DD is clearly marked “paycheck/salary,” Cap one is not, although they both say ACH credit.

Yeah they take a guess at the category column, but that doesn't appear to matter for the bonus. Since you can manually change that category, I think that's just for doing all the extra reporting/analysis they got going on the site. I forgot they even had an app, so I didn't realize it'd look different :)

The bonus showing up almost seems like a little bit of batching. I got mine 2 weeks after finishing the last requirements (the debits), but there were reports on r/churning of several people getting it on the same date when we all had slightly different open and requirements met dates. It seems the most consistent that you'll get it the month following requirements met, if I'm thinking of the right data points.

I'm just starting on bank bonuses too, so no first hand experience. But, I did see some reports in the comments on Doc of Credit that you could downgrade the PNC account after you got the bonus to one that only requires $500 in it to stay fee free. Maybe that would be more doable? I think I'm too scared to try downgrading, though.
I downgraded 45 days after receiving my bonus and have not had any issues with the bonus being clawed back. It was an easy phone call, I just asked to downgrade my accounts and they did it no problem.

ETA: Just saw @miztressuz post that you can downgrade online...even better!

I guess we only have another 10 or so days til we find out CF q4, right? I am ready for this quarter to be over.

Me too. I used my Freedom for gas until I started the MSR’s on Amex and now nothing. Really crossing fingers for warehouse stores or Apple Wallet again (so I can use for Costco...my one big spend drain I can’t use Amex on).

I am not giving up hope for the December 10. Going to keep checking. I love DAH! And if we went in December we could see Epcot Processional...something we have never done. We have been in November but never December for the full fledged WDW Christmas experience.

For those worried about the airline stories and who you or kiddos sit by I really wouldn’t worry too much. After prosecuting special victim cases for 10 years I would definitely say the bigger danger is allowing your kiddos to ever have sleepovers of any kind, or as a woman crashing drunk at a party and spending the night. Things happen sure but on a crowded plane not quite as likely at all. :)

Oh @gottalovepluto I laughed at your statement as a sole woman traveler. My last time trip by myself (does not happen that much right now) I was suitably paranoid that while I did take Lyft I was taking screenshots of my Lyft page and sending it to DH. You know in case I got kidnapped and murdered on the way to DCA at 2pm. (Of course in my defense it was a conference on capital litigation so I had heard about all sorts of cases all week).

Well, I don’t have to worry about sleepovers, my DS won’t even stay at Grandma’s overnight .

Your Lyft story reminds of a little ride I had this summer. While visiting A-Z, I met a long lost cousin (as in so long, lost we never even knew about his side of the family until earlier this year) He arrived in his van, with his wife and kids, and said hop in, we’ll go to the state park. I was texting my sister “If you don’t hear from me, last seen white minivan, Winslow AZ...”.

That story freaked me out because my DD17 had just gotten back from Thailand on an Emirates flight stopping in Dubai. When she got home she told me they gave her a glass of wine on the plane. I didn't really think much of it, I know the drinking age in other countries is much lower, and I really don't care if she has a glass of wine, we offer it at home to her at dinner on occasion. I thought it a little strange they gave her one, but she was all excited about it being free. But then I read the story and looked up the drinking age and it was 18. I showed her the story and she said they did ask me if I was 18 and I said yes.:faint: I just thought, oh my goodness, she could have been arrested and detained in Dubai. Maybe I shouldn't have shared the story of my delinquent DD.

ETA She is finally 18 now! I guess I can change my sig. And my DS has been 16 for months so I guess I am behind.
Well, on the bright side you know for sure she has an excellent head on her shoulders so she’s not likely to get caught! You can rest easy ;)

New offer on my Amex Delta Biz spend $50 at the Gap get $10 back. Interesting is it says it'll unlock another offer for ON etc -

Get a 1X $10 statement credit and unlock another special offer from Banana Republic, Old Navy and Athleta by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $50+ in one transaction in-store at Gap by 10/31/18. Not valid at outlets. See terms for exclusions

You don't want your 35K free night certificate? Won't it be due for you in September? That should be worth the $95?

On a side note, daughter is due a certificate in August, but hasn't seen it yet. Has anyone heard of anyone actually getting the SPG free night that was supposed to start 8/1/18??

Either caught up or quit her job.

Today I took myself over to the nearest Marriott and bought myself a $300 Marriott gift card with my SPG Lux. I got 2 of the email notifications while still standing and chatting to the desk ladies - the 'you've used your offer' ones. I was expecting an email for the $60 one, and I'm guessing the other email is for the $300 credit? The $300 charge was also pending on my account right away.
So Amex gave me $360 today and then I'll get my free night next year. For $450. Not too shabby!

Now, this Marriott gift card is the loadable kind. I'm hoping to burn it in a week or so. It's like a $300 interest free loan from Amex until the annual fee comes due. That part I like. And since it's calendar year, I can get another in January?

Now, the other part - my spend will be about $20 once the credit shows. I've got to buy something big.

So, I'll now be watching for the credits to post!

I went into a Courtyard today and they said they didn't sell gift cards. Also read another post on the same. Which brand did you buy from?

That was on our original list. Hadn't been mentioned again. Can you do things on the cheap here? I'm thinking probably not. Though I am thinking probably not cheap many places.

I suggested Texas, but Colorado girl is from Texas and she said please no. lol

I mentioned Sedona. Then looked at the weather. It's December averages were much like Seattle. Had no idea it got cold there. Oops

We just came up with this idea last night. We will find a place somewhere. Probably not where all 4 will be happy with the choice, but we will be happy to spend time together anywhere. Didn't think it would be this hard!

New Orleans? Pensacola? I'm trying to think of somewhere interesting to visit in the US that will be warm in December and saw those hadn't been suggested yet. Although, you might get a cold snap and end up with weather in the 40s or 50s there anyway. Very unlikely you would get snow or ice though. Have you considered an international trip? Sometimes flights to Mexico are cheaper out of my airport than flights to US cities on the east or west coasts, and it should definitely be warmer there.

What is the value of Marriott points? Wondering if someone had a good value on them or if TPG is accurate at 0.9.
