Are you trying for the cp?
ETA you could do the csp get that bonus and you can always transfer to swa. Saving you the sw card spot for later since you now have to wait 2 years to get another sapphire bonus

Hmm, now that's an idea...but I don't know if I can stand the thought of transferring UR's to SW 1:1 when I could use them for 1.5 on the portal.

I think Southwest guru @SouthFayetteFan would value SW RR points at somewhere higher than 1 cpp, so transferring UR=SW isn't necessarily 1:1 cpp.

@3 DD love princesses has a point -- if you don't double dip the CSP today, you're locked out of another Sapphire bonus for the next 2 years. If you get a SW card later this year and don't double dip another personal SW (and you said you're not interested in the SW Biz), you're locked out of another SW bonus for 2 years. Because Chase is implementing these new "one card in each product family" and only "one bonus from each product family every 24 months" rules, it really cuts down on the bonus points you can get out of Chase's lineup without double dipping.

I was at 4/24 before applying for CSR today.

That's something to think about too. The CSR would put you at 5/24 effective tomorrow. If you double dip the CSP today, that'll put you at 6/24 tomorrow. Yes, you could transfer the 50k UR bonus from the CSP to SW. However, if you want a SW card and its bonus, then you'll have to figure when your next two oldest sub-24 months cards will drop off to get you under 5/24 again to apply for a SW card.

It would be January or February (not sure when it would be safe to apply because I got the card on 1/1/17), but I guess that would be okay if I used some UR points for SW. I think I'll be wanting to book WDW when flights are released for June, which is what, around six months ahead?

If I didn't have SW RR points, I'd be perfectly happy transferring URs to SW for flights. Because booking with RR points is the bomb - no change fees, no stupid ticketless travel funds with expirations to keep track of, easy to change to a lower fare with instant RR point refund. I value SW RR points around 1.4 cpp which is close to the 1.5 portal multiplier.

Plus it’s not a hugh difference transferring since rr points are 1.4 vs ur 1.5 with csr

Sw is 5-6 months ahead. You can always use ur to book Disney now and then cancel or modify your trip based on your flights.

Tagging @mom2elal too...

Based on the most recent devaluation, Southwest points are now worth 1.48 cents each. So URs transferred to Southwest are worth...1.48 (which is slightly less than 1.50 for those who are good at math ;)) Now there is some debate on whether it makes sense to PAY for southwest flights using URs or book them with SW RR points. I'm in the book with SW RR camp (however it's easy to be since I have over 550k SW points).

The PROS to transferring to SW are:
  • You can cancel at any time and get your points back and your $5.60 fee refunded.
  • You can also rebook if the price goes down and get points refunded later (vs. if you do this with URs you end up with the travel credit that expires in a year).
  • This also means you can book speculatively on the release date and if your travel plans change/get cancelled no worries.
The CON is with URs you can actually earn RRs on your flight so your return is probably a little better.

I personally value the flexibility over the slightly better return.

OMG, you guys are such good enablers/cheerleaders! I just applied for the double dip and was instantly approved (with a 19k limit!!) I can't believe how nervous that made me, lol. Now I'm afraid of being shut down because I feel like only churners would apply for two cards in one day.:magnify::scared::duck:

Well luckily for you - they aren't shutting down churners ;) They are shutting down people intending on committing fraud, lol. Hopefully you don't accidentally look like one of them :) lol!

Congratulations! If you have questions about trying to MS the spend feel free to reach out. Chase makes it pretty easy.

Congrats glad to be a great enabler :-) stuck in the car for an all day drive so it’s nice seeing others approvals

I'm with you! I get so angry as I go from stand to stand looking for something decent to eat! We did try, and loved, the Baseline Tap House. They have a great drink selection including hard cider on tap. We also got the soft pretzel with beer-cheese fondue and mustard sauce for dipping and the cheese and charcuterie plate. It was a nice snack and held us over until we could have dinner out of the park later!
In March we ate at ABC Comissary, even used the app to order ahead. They have some bbq items like chicken and ribs; hummus and pita chips, salmon with couscous or chimichurri steak. We didn’t try any of those but DH and I both had the Mediterranean salad with chicken which was not bad and a relief from the fried stuff.

We've done Cinderella's Royal Table, Kona, Tusker House, Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, Le Cellier, Beaches and Cream, Akershus, California Grill, Trails End, 50's Primetime Cafe, Ohana breakfast and dinner, Be Our Guest, T-Rex, Rainforest Cafe, The Wave, Yak and Yeti, Grand Floridian Cafe and a few others. I have to stay we keep coming back to Narcossee's , Via Napoli, Sci Fi Dine in and Chef Arts Homecomin in Disney Springs. Excellent food at all of them. I've heard good things about Jungle Canteen, The Edison, Blaze Pizza, Morimoto and the Swalphin high end restaurants-Bluezoo and Shula's. August trip we plan to try Jungle Canteen and June trip we will try Boatwrights at our resort POR.

We also are booking ADR's for November in a few days!

I have gotten where I prefer not to eat at sit down restaurants alot. It sucks up sooo much time, not to mention money, and I hate having ADRs to plan my day around. I prefer spontaneity...esp with a toddler. Here are our faves...some TS and some QS.

Crews Cup Lounge- next to Yachtman steakhouse at the YC. DH's fave. Quiet, no ADR required. Small menu, wings and such. We usually order several small plates and share.

AK- Yak n Yeti or the attached counter service. Both very good. I also like the new Satuli Canteen or whatever it is called in Pandora. Yummy!!!

Epcot- Via Napoli, Rose n Crown (lunch- Scottish egg) or any number of CS options...boulangerie patisserie is prob my fave.

DHS- good luck there, lol. I do like the chopped salad at HBD and they have the lounge area (not sure on hours) that you can do without an ADR...unless that changed/closed.

MK- We usually do CHH here for a decent QS meal. DD18 gets the salmon. I usually do fried fish. I still have never done BOG, though, because I have ended up canceling it every time. I want that croquet monsieur there but the timing never works out. I really liked the plaza in the past, but it has been a few years, so not sure how the food is now.

YC/BC has Beaches n Cream that is yummy but now that it has ADRs we don't go anymore. Sigh. It used to be great if you are staying there, to pop in for an early dinner/late lunch. Not anymore. Double sigh.

Poly- Kona was a fave but haven't been in a few years. DH loved O'Hana, but again haven't gone in a few years. Generally things change quickly at WDW so I am going to assume they have gone downhill since I was last there. :sad2:

The new outdoor restaurant at WL is soooo good. I think it is Geyser something or another. We only were there 1 night and I think we ate there 3 times. lol

Well thanks, now I am craving Disney. :mickeybarI have been tossing around a last minute trip in about 2 weeks with the kids. Just can't decide if better to wait til later in the year for toy story land. decisions decisions. :bored:

Hey are there any Chase rules on how soon you can apply for personal+biz cards? I was planning on getting the Marriott 100k but I just got approved for the CIP and didn't know how far I should space them out.

There's no rule per-say. Do you have an immediate need for the Marriott points or a spend coming up that you wanted to use it for? If that's not the case and if you aren't finished with your CIP MSR yet then I'd wait as long as you can. The more you space them out, the better off you are from a "looking risky" standpoint.

My plan going forward is to apply for my next card about 2 weeks before I anticipate finishing the MSR on my current card (and at least put 2 months in between Chase apps, more if I can swing it).
