Have read every page of this entire thread. Thanks for all of the great info. Quick question. I have a major landscape expense coming up and would like to sign up for CSP and use that to pay. Landscaper is not set up to accept cc. Can I use CSP through Plastiq to pay? Probably a dumb question, but recall seeing where Chase is cracking down on Plastiq use, but that may have been mortgages only. Thanks!

Paying a contractor through Plastiq using a Chase card is fine. Just keep in mind that it takes 7-10 days from submission for a check from Plastiq to get delivered. If your contractor is ok with that, you shouldn’t have problems from Chase or Plastiq. (At most, Plastiq may ask you to send in an invoice to verify the payment.)

But why CSP? As I mentioned above, Plastiq will earn you only 1x UR on the CSP, which won’t entirely offset Plastiq’s 2.5% fee. Have you considered applying for the Chase Ink Preferred (CIP), which will get you 3x UR on your payment and fees on Plastiq?
CSP wouldn't necessarily be a bad choice if you're using Plastiq to hit the MSR. You're only giving up a few % points there. HOWEVER I do agree with @Lain that CIP is a better option if you're eligible :)

FYI - IHG CARDHOLDERS! Good news...

https://twitter.com/IHGService/status/992413293968019456

IHG with Chase recently made the decision to award one more uncapped Anniversary Free Night to every IHG Rewards Club Select Cardholders. This means that their recently awarded or upcoming free night CAN be used at any IHG hotel worldwide.

Can you help me understand a couple of things? I think I know the answer to this one, but I’ll ask anyway…why is it advised to not add your spouse as an authorized user?

My second question relates to balance/available balance. Did I read that you should keep your balances under 30% of your income? Does that include car payments and mortgages? Is it your monthly payments for those items?

I guess I have a third question as well. Is there a rule of thumb as to what percent of credit card limit I should have in regards to income? Say I have a credit card with a $10,000 balance and DH is an AU on that account. Do we still figure $10,000 or does it now make it $20,000?

I hope these questions make sense.

I had scheduled a Plastiq payment for the vacation rental we reserved next month. I got an email last night saying that the payment was being refunded because short term rentals aren't allowed through Plastiq. Does anyone have any experience with getting something like this to go through? I do have a rental contract I could provide but wasn't even asked for it, they just flat out declined it.

why is it advised to not add your spouse as an authorized user? It will add to their 5/24 count and make it more difficult for them to later be your awesome player 2

My second question relates to balance/available balance. Did I read that you should keep your balances under 30% of your income? Does that include car payments and mortgages? Is it your monthly payments for those items? If you mean what you read here...We aren’t talking about balances there. We are talking about your credit limit as a % of income with Chase.

Hope that helps :)

I know what I am about to ask has nothing to do with CC, but here it goes Lol. Could anyone recommend some must eat at restaurants at WDW please. My family is going in Nov. and ADR is on Wednesday and we are still not sure where to eat. A family of 5. Thank you!!!!
Kona! It is so good. Everything there is delicious. On our last trip we went to Flying Fish, Rose and Crown, Tiffins, and Kona. We both agreed Kona was our favorite. We fell in love with them a few years ago and then they changed the menu to and we were sort of 'meh' on it but they changed it again for the better. We love Hawaiian-style food and sushi though so we are biased. In case you were wondering, Rose & Crown was the worst. Yuck! In fact I ended up puking a few hours later. Also for snacks there is a mac-and-cheese with either pulled pork or shrimp on it in Animal Kingdom at the Smiling Crocodile and it was amazing! AK has so many good food options but I wouldn't be sad to just get two snacks and call it lunch.
Ok so we are not the only ones disappointed by HS dining :) If we have to eat there we stop by the Backlot for a sandwich, otherwise we pack granola bars and save our money for an early dinner anywhere else :teeth: We've done Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic package a few times when we were with a group, and it's fine, but it's not somewhere I'd just go to.
When it's just the 2 of us we tend to go commando and so we're with @disneymagicgirl and do a lot more QS for the flexibility. Plus if you hit up the right places you can feed 2 on one meal.
I HATE DHS food options. Like it actually makes me angry. Epcot and AK have such great choices and then you go to DHS and your options are burgers, fries, corn dogs, and nuggets. I don't like fried stuff so I end up getting very cranky that I am wasting precious calories (and money!) on food I don't like. I used to survive by going to Starring Rolls and getting a sandwich but that is no more. The only thing I found that didn't induce a temper tantrum was the Caprese Sandwich at Backlot Express. The only problem is it's kind of out of the way so it's still not a good solution. Man, it's been a few months since our last trip and I am still fired up about it >:(.

Thanks! Sorry about the issues you and others are having with this. I didn't realize FunJet was an option for them. Both times I've called on a hotel room the agents have made it sound like they're booking directly on the Disney website. Only buying one day tickets for November but I'm planning to buy MVMCP tickets through Chase this weekend to see if they'll code as travel that way. I'll be sure to make sure they're using Disney's website.

I assume you don't get any discounts when buying through them--like your paying gate prices? I am a big fan of the Undercover Tourist loophole for upgrading to an AP so I don't know if I could give that up. For our family of 4 it's a savings of $269, maybe a few bucks more if we can do a shopping portal too. It would be hard to give that up. Than again it goes back to that debate over the value of points. Would I rather overspend in points to save in real life dollars? Decisions :scratchin (the answer is probably not. I'm cheap with both points and real money.)

Also of not: I got approved for the CIP . This is actually my first Chase business card and I was a little nervous. I didn't totally BS on the application. I said it was for a retail/sign making company or something similar. And I did just order a Cricut yesterday. And I did think "I could sell this stuff". Now whether I do that??? Of note the shopping portal I used to buy the Cricut didn't work and I am very sad at the loss of that $16.

Thank you! So yes, on the second question, I am talking about what I'm reading here. So to clarify, the limit of all my credit cards combined should be less than 30% of my income??? Or is it just the credit limit of my Chase cards? Then back to my third question, if I have a $10,000 limit and my husband is an AU on the same card does that make for a total of $20,000 when trying to figure the 30% thing? Thanks for all your help! I'll try not to be a lifetime pest!!!

Bingo! Just trying to hit the MSR. I am way above 5/24, so this my wife's app and she has met the limits on Chase business cards. BTW, good to see a HS football fan on here. We like HS and college football just a little bit down here in Bama :). It is only our second religion (maybe first! :rolleyes1). I am a television and radio sportscaster and have been doing HS football here for almost 30 years. Love it and glad to see someone else with a passion for HS football.

I am just impressed you have "read every page." I am exhausted just thinking about that!

You could also see if your landscaper would take Venmo.

Sadly my confirmation email looks nothing like this. And weirdly @gottalovepluto and I confirmation email is not similar either even though we are both getting the funjet runaround.

Since 2009 I have attended 112 our of 118 of my HS alma mater's games :) That includes 70 of the last 71 games. Friday nights in the fall are sacred to me :D

How much is the landscaping bill going to be?

My DH has had the Sapphire for more than 4 years now. He is planning to cancel tomorrow so that he can reapply and get the bonus again. How soon after cancelling can he reapply and get the bonus? I know he can get the bonus since it’s been more than 2 years since he got it but just wondering how long he should wait to reapply? He is under 5/24.

DPs I have read say wait 31 days.

You guys, I need help with a decision! I've been planning to apply for the CSR soon (was going to do it today), and I kind of ignored the talk on the new CSP bonus, because I doubt we'd want/be able to spend 20k on that card when we'll have other MSR's to make, but I was just reading about it on Reddit and I saw that it has no annual fee.

So now I'm really questioning my decision of paying $450 for the CSR for basically an extra 25% on travel. I know there's the $300 travel credit, so it's really $150, but $150 vs. $0?? I'm not sure how to do the math, though, when I don't know exactly how much spend I'll put on the card beyond the minimum. My dh does have a Freedom, which I'm trying to max out this quarter, but we don't usually max it out. I hate this fear of making the wrong decision and losing out!! Help!:faint:

The $150 is pretty much covered n the extra value of the points. This is especially true if you are taking advantage of the category bonuses. I good friend recently told me she was not going to pay $450 for an CSR and that her CSP was the better card to have. I tried explaining how it was net $150 and how she'd earn UR points faster on dining and travel. She is stubborn and simply didn't want to hear it. She travels nearly as much as we do and uses the card for everyday spend. A few days later she texted me and she asked me to help her with some flights and award availability. The flights she was looking at were about $998 and there were no saver awards available that I could find for her destination and dates. I explained she could pay for them in the UR portal. I told her that it would cost me 66,533 through my CSR account. But since she only had a CSP and CIP it was going to cost her 79,840 instead. That was when it sank in and she called Chase and PC'd her CSP to a CFU. She is going to apply for the CSR in 30 days.

If you are only doing the minimum spend and it is all in 1 x categories, no dining or travel then you not have the great advantage of the extra value. It's $4,000 spend for both cards. At 1x you get 54,000 UR worth $675 on the CSP and $810 on the CSR. But, if you are spending in the dining and travel categories you will likely come out ahead on the CSR.

When you go to jetblue.com, sign in and then click on "your name's TrueBlue". Scroll down to the bottom and it should have your mosaic status there.
Ok that's the part on my page that says I don't qualify yet for 2019, so what about 2018?

Sadly my confirmation email looks nothing like this. And weirdly @gottalovepluto and I confirmation email is not similar either even though we are both getting the funjet runaround.
For those following our saga the emails we received were just travel supplier confirmations that Chase had purchased the tickets from a travel supplier and the travel supplier was processing them, they weren't the Disney confirmations because the supplier hasn't actually purchased our tickets yet.

I'm with you! I get so angry as I go from stand to stand looking for something decent to eat! We did try, and loved, the Baseline Tap House. They have a great drink selection including hard cider on tap. We also got the soft pretzel with beer-cheese fondue and mustard sauce for dipping and the cheese and charcuterie plate. It was a nice snack and held us over until we could have dinner out of the park later!
