Anyone want an easy 50 Marriott points can follow them on Twitter & tweet about your fave epic sports moment. They offer points occasionally on Twitter, I've gotten 500 or so.

Anyone have the phone number for Disney wholesale handy? We are less than a week from leaving and I changed our resort lol...SO, after the herculean effort I went through to get our conf number the first time, I need to get another number and don't want to be Hercules again :)

Just out of curiosity, what resort did you switch to and why? Did you find a better deal? I remember seeing some really good last minute WDW redemptions upthread.

We are staying for 9 nights but were going to surprise the kids with 3 nights at BC and then move to SSR for the last 6 nights. Since we have to get two rooms at BC, that place gets $$ fast. Well, the redemptions were getting really good once we hit a week out. I realized that we could stay longer at BC (5 nights) if we were willing to drop to a moderate for 4 nights. So, that is what I did. We are at CS the last 4 nights. The kids only think we are staying at CS so I'm trying to come up with a way to surprise them :) And yes, we are paying less points overall! I'm sad to lose the space and kitchen/laundry of SSR but we don't spend a ton of time in the room.

Just for anyone interested, the prices I am seeing now that we are right upon our trip are:
ASSp for $57, ASMu and Mo $70's, Pop $88, AoA $94, CS and CBR $98, POFQ $142, POR $175, AKL $156, BWV $199, BC $231, YC $279
(these prices are before taxes and redeeming points from CSR)

I was hoping to see YC drop to the $149 that others saw back in August but I check daily and have never seen it even close to that. The extra and cheap inventory seems to be in the values mostly for our dates.

Anyone know if Discover will give you another card if you already have one? My current card account is 25+ years old, but I'd love to get the DiscoverIt offer.

I'd love to know that too. I've had mine for 14 years and, if I recall correctly, unless it's a 5% bonus category I only earn .25% cashback on the first $3000 in purchases per year and then it jumps to 1% for the remainder of the year. Needless to say I never use it unless I'm doing category spending. I'd love to have the DiscoverIt but still want to keep my other card since I've had it for so long.

@wendow Is it hard to change DME this late in the game? We are at 10 days but I can't help to keep looking for a point drop.

We are staying at BC at the beginning of the trip and just extended that stay vs. changing the first resort so our DME tags are good. I think changing this close to travel date is possible but you'd need to plan to grab your own luggage. The reservation for DME is on your MB so you'd still be able to get the bus.

Just going back to the prices I am seeing for 7-10 days out, the steal of the century is AoA. I wish my family could all fit comfortably! But I really think we'd be too squished. Anyways, for 6 nights with the QSDP (half-board), it is $1563 (with taxes and everything). This is the only value I am seeing that doesn't add a ton of fees for the 'half-board'.

Where are these rates? Are they AP rates, or some other secret cc thing I haven't found out about yet???

so am I correct in my math that if you can get a disney room with half board you're getting the QSDP for $50 a night? thru the chase portal

Yes-per person is about what I am seeing also. Which for my family of 6, is $300 a night extra. We only spend about $150 a day on food so this is twice what we'd spend. However, AoA doesn't seem to add near as much so if you have that as an option, it seems to be a good deal.

DS has a long weekend in Sept and SW has ridiculously low fares from BWI. Looking for downtown hotel suggestions. Thoughts?

Have any of you ever used a paid service to help book travel? I've come across Expert Flyer, which is a subscription based service, but helps locate flight availability and awards seats. Also, PointPros is a consulting service that takes care of everything for you, but is more pricey.

I don't particularly like the idea of of paying for services to book, but I am completely overwhelmed at all the options out there. I have read so many blogs and articles the last few weeks and am starting to get a better handle, but still need some help.

Anybody had good or bad experiences? Thanks in advance.

I have no experience by the if it makes you feel better all the flight stuff is super confusing to me too. All the alliances and such is over my head. Luckily I fly mostly southwest.

Haha.....yes, makes me feel better. I usually fly Southwest as well, but am in the very preliminary stages of planning a Hawaii trip, which is what made me get into the travel points. For the last several years, I have just used cash back cards, along with a Southwest and IHG card and been content. But, learning that Chase UR transfers SW 1:1, it made sense to make the switch.

AA has a non-stop from Dallas to Honolulu, but everything I am reading is that Delta through Korean is the best deal with only 45,000 points for first class. However, they are wanting to route me from Dallas to Atlanta and then to Hawaii. I'm not interested in flying 3 hours in the wrong direction, regardless of how many points it saves me. There has to be a better way. I would like to fly to LAX and then on to HNL. I'm going to keep digging, but giving some serious consideration to one of the services to help me figure it out.
