I love credit cards so much!

Has anyone else with a Starwood AMEX card received double the normal 'credits'? I had 2 stays and 5 nights credited, and then a week or two later another 2 stays and 5 nights. My first stay this year isn't until March but I already have 4 stays towards renewing my Gold membership.

I got a promo email for something like that. See pic. Maybe you had a promo linked to your acct?

On a side note, I need to call them because I can’t get the link to work for me to activate this offer. Super annoying.

Woo hoo! I just called the Chase automated status line to check on my Marriott business card application, and I was approved. I was getting a bit nervous that I was in the permanent Chase doghouse. This is my first business card and first Chase card in a while, so good to know there is hope for the CIP when I get back under 5/24 later this year. I was using this one as a trial run of sorts, but the Marriott points will be put to good use :)

Congratulations! But I thought you already had the Amex Platinum. I’m assuming a different flavor?

My personal Platinum renewal is coming up. I love the card and plan to keep it, but I’ll call in to inquire about retention offers anyway. $550 AF is a lot to pay and the Ameriprise Platinum comes with all the benefits and first year AF waived, but at the cost of a */24 slot.
I have a different version. The “free” one.. wink...

We are wanting to diversify our hotel points without jeopardizing hubby’s Hilton lifetime diamond that he will attain in 3 years.
I have a hard time thinking about booking Marriott when he has no status because he earns at such a higher rate at Hilton.

What is the beat way to get some status at Marriott without starting at the bottom? Are there any Marriott cards he can get that give him a level or two up from peon? Ha. Once he gets some sort of status we can hit Hilton hard until get 60 nights to renew diamond, then switch the rest of the year to marriott.

Ummmm.... is it stills available?

Sure. That's the Ameriprise Platinum. AF is waived the first year.

Some flavors of the Amex Platinum (I think personal Platinum, business Platinum, and Mercedes-Benz) offer automatic SPG Gold status, which can be matched with Marriott for Gold Elite status, for as long as you hold the card.

Well I got another credit card. I finished the Marriott spend for two cards with unexpectedly being allowed to pay my tuition this semester. I couldn’t pass up the Amex Delta Business card offer. I used the Reddit page. I’m so happy we all help each other out.

Reports on Reddit CSR Best Buy bonuses from early in the promotion are processing 2,700 UR points right to the affected accounts. My fam member didn't get one yet, but they downgraded the card to a CFU a couple days ago. Gah!

I finally got my 2700 today, however it was a daily SM game with Chase. I'm just glad it's done, and I hope everyone else due the bonus gets theirs much easier.

Ok, will check them out. thx!

Just finished the MSR on my Amex BGR and DH was just approved for the Marriott Biz card.

DH and I received our Amex Platinum cards last week (he's an AU) which will give us lounge access at the Centurion in Philly next week and the LAS Centurion, as well.

I love reading about all these new card approvals! I can hardly keep up. Congratulations, everyone!

I just applied for the Marriott Biz with the 75k points/$0 Intro AF offer and got the 30 days message. Now I'll be dialing the automated status line like every hour until I'm approved. Fingers crossed.

Thanks to all who offered their thoughts and advice. I should be wrapping up my SPG Biz $10k MSR in February and figured I'd get a head start on my next card. The Marriott Biz should be a good fit. It won't add to my */24 count while I try to figure out whether to go for the Marriott personal 75k or 120k offer (although I'm leaning towards 75k, because a $12k MSR would really take a lot of spend away from category bonuses and new signup bonuses), and possibly wait for another SPG personal 35k offer. This'll push out my going for the SW CP with the SW Biz, but I'm not convinced I'd get much use out of it right now. Oh well!

Before you apply for any Amex Platinum, please check back here! Amex bonuses are generally once per lifetime, per product, so you pretty much have one shot to get the best (or near best) possible bonus. The public offers on several of the Platinums are 60k MR points, but there are 75k and 100k offers out there!

Thanks for this DP. I’ve been checking my Chase UR account frequently for the promised adjustment. Just checked again, and the 2,700 points adjustment is there!

i have a friend who also got 1x, where do u see the adjustment at? in UR award site or it shows 9x on the transaction...

I don’t know about the payment, but I do know you won’t get shopping portal points for the gift card purchase.

Let us know if you get the 5x though. I’d order groceries there a lot.
The purchase final came through my account and it did not qualify despite visa checkout being partner with samsung pay. I also contact Chase via email and they seem confused and not aware of the partnership.

Good luck with your card, Lain!

I'm just finishing up the 3K spend on the Marriott personal. I applied and got approved on Xmas day, so I guess I spend faster than I am realizing, but I did go to Disney and back in January for a week. My next card will probably be the Marriott Business, in my quest for SPG points. I already have the SPG personal and long term goal is to apply for the SPG business, if it's still around once I'm ready.

My daughter applied for the Marriott Biz about 2 weeks ago and got the 30 day message. After the weekend, she got a message to call Chase. I told her not to call, just check the number posted here and after a couple of days she was approved! She also was able to see the card in her Chase account as she has another Chase business card, I forget which one.

And, I'm still debating on closing my SPG personal and reapplying in the future. I've had the card 17 years and don't remember getting any bonus when I applied back then. I do get the offers which have sort of made the card pay for itself, but I also get basically the same ones on an MR earning no fee card I have that's about 20 years old. I also have an authorized user on the spg that I probably never got any credit for either.

All that said, gasp! I have no UR earning cards! But the business cards won't affect my x/24 with Chase, so I've still got plenty of time. I think.
