Just back from our Disney trip which I paid for with gift cards. My previous strategy was using $ from Swagbucks to buy Disney gift cards at Kroger and Best Buy. With no current Disney trip to plan, I need to figure out how best to channel those sb funds. Considering doing Air b n b gift cards. Anyone here have experience with that? We’ve never stayed through them before, but considering a week in London June 2020 and maybe a trial 3-4 nights this coming summer here in the states. Do Abnb gc’s combine if I buy them say $100 at a time? I remember @Haley R might be doing this too IIRC?

Do you have a discover card? It’s almost over now but the 5% cashback lately has been from amazon. We’ve been getting tons of cashback from that. Once you get $45 cashback you can get a $50 Airbnb gc. It’s not much but I haven’t seen any other deals on Airbnb lately. I was told eBay was an option but I haven’t seen any deals there since March I think.

You can just add all of the gift cards to your Airbnb account and it’ll combine them all on your account.

Merry Christmas all!! Hope everyone has had a great day! We had a very relaxing day here. DH bought me the Harry Potter Wand Collection book, which is very pretty, and I got him a Sorting Hat to go on top of next year's Christmas tree, which will be Harry Potter themed.

We also told our families about the 2019 Disney trip! They were thrilled! They all knew we were going to take a trip, but didn't know we would be covering the cost or that we had booked it. My mom was thrilled as it will be 14 years since she's been to WDW. My in-laws have never stayed in Disney before or been to all of the parks, so they're very excited as well. We put together stockings with "Disney survival kits" including sunscreen, cooling towels, hair scrunchies, etc. which they all liked. We also had matching t-shirts made with everyone's names and Toy Story characters on them in the shape of Mickey heads. Hysterically, when my MIL opened her card and read we were going to Disney, she looks up and says "oh my gosh, can we all get matching t-shirts to wear together?!" I handed her the box with her shirt in it and she was thrilled. I got her and FIL Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head shirts, which they loved. We are already talking about ADRs on the group text.

I've officially met the CIU MSR... once it posts we'll be up to 437,000 URs and I have $425 in discounted Disney GCs.

I also have both the 30% and 10% offers on both my CFU and CF... I don't see a way to remove the 10% one so I'm just going to go pick up about $75 in GCs on both cards at Staples tomorrow and see what happens...

Now for the churning bit. Anyone have any of the new Chase offers track and credit? I had one order track but DH bought a GC at Lowe’s for 51.06 no email, no note on the app of credit, offer still present on his card.

I have both and am also wondering if they’ll stack.

It sounds like the deals will stack. That’s what is being reported. Fingers crossed! The Chase deals finally do post but it takes forever. But both Staples and Lowe’s have posted for me on multiple cards.

For anyone interested, On the Basis of Sex was a really good movie. I will say if you aren't intetested in the story or like that type of movie you'll get bored. The theater was full, I didn't see any kids which makes sense unless they are interested already but I would say at least 13 and not because of language or anything like that.

I imagine it'll be up for best pic along with First Man though that was a better movie. Felicity Jones should get some acknowlgement for the role because she did a great job.

Merry Christmas to all! I have been so busy and finally had a chance to check in...I miss checking in with you all and “visiting.”

Huge Friends fan. Also love Scrubs. As of late DH and I have been staying up way too late binge watching Parks and Recreation again.

My best gift was that I was able to surprise DH with his own iPad. When they dropped down to $229 last week I asked if he wanted one. He said no don’t spend the money. Then later he changed his mind and said let’s get it. I played it exactly right and said deal done. He knows me well enough I wouldn’t get it without a deal so believed me. He was in shock when he unwrapped it today. I have the opposite of a poker face but for once I played it perfectly.

Everyone hug your love ones even if sometimes they are annoying. (Sad but true at holiday times). @Andysol thank you for sharing your Reddit link. I don’t get on there but I appreciate you sharing your story. (And I only cried a little bit).

Here is my craft desk, because I want to send it to everyone I know, including the internet.

It's got outlets built in, glass tops so you can see in to the top drawers, little shelves in each door, and pull out shelves on one side.

Eta: I forgot it also comes apart into 4 pieces to be easier to move

Where are you seeing reports of stacking? All I've seen so far is some comments on DoC about previous offers not stacking, I think at Panera. If it doesn't stack then that's ok, as long as they credit the 30% offer!

For TV watching, I have free over the air TV. Replaced the rabbit ears with a HD Antenna. I am a long term hold out on cable and even got the free converters from the government when over the air went from analog to digital and my TVs would not work.

I have Netflix and have plans to keep. Love some of their original shows - The Crown, OITNB, The Good Cop. Sometimes they have movies that aren't too old. I watch some of the previously aired stuff too if I haven't seen it before.

Now that the college football bowl games are in ESPN, I have SlingTV for part of the year. I start it when football season starts and then it goes off in January.

But you have to have internet, right? Internet only is $95/ month here. So ridiculous. Then any streaming services on top.
