An hour at MDW is usually fine though it does take time to park and shuttle if you’re driving.

ETA We usually give ourselves 2 hours to get to MDW and we live 40 min away with traffic. I’m looking at 6 am flights for one trip though and thinking about hotels nearby. There are quite a few within a mile or two, including Hyatt and Marriott
We will most likely stay the night before because our flight leaves at 5:30 am. That makes me feel really good that it’s a smaller airport. We will be driving so we’ll have to pay for parking and take the shuttle over. That’s what we do at our local airport too.

Question on combining Starpoints/Marriott points. DH has starpoints and I need to combine with mine to get a N&F package. What is easier? Combine the Starpoints then transfer to my Marriott account? or create a Marriott account for DH and transfer his starpoints and then combine with my Marriott account? Either of these quicker than the other?

Several of the local hotels have park and fly packages. The economy lot is $15 per day. Sometimes the park and fly deals can same a good amount of $ in comparison.

Between PayPal and groceries I found it very easy to max the Chase Freedom bonus last quarter. Any tips for maxing it out this quarter?

There are a few hotels that offer Park Sleep Fly where you can leave your car at the hotel. I’d compare prices to see which is the better deal

If I recall correctly, combine on SPG, then transfer to Marriott. I know some ppl would transfer from Marriott --> SPG --> SO SPG --> SO Marriott.

Walgreens sells gift cards ie amazon, some food places, etc. if those dont apply, buy a $500 Visa Gift Card and use them elsewhere.

I need one night in Orlando next month and seriously considering the Waldorf Astoria Bonnet Creek. Anyone stay here?

I’m getting a rate of $199 under Amex FHR. Includes upgrade, free breakfast for two and $100 spa credit.
Thoughts?

I have been to the lovely Lincoln, NE airport several times for work between 2004-2006. We stayed at the Holiday Inn downtown. It’s amazing how many state capitals are in small cities and difficult to get to.
I do love the tiny airports for how easy they are!

One time we ran into people who had an 8hr delay in omaha... at least they have a bar in the terminal...

My husband and I stayed there two years ago for 2 nights. It was fantastic, we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite with a view of the Disney fireworks. We were sans kids so I'm sure that made the resort even more relaxing. They also have a shuttle over to the parks if you are going. The pool is wonderful and you can also go use the pool at the Hilton if you want. The Bull and Bear restaurant there is highly regarded but we did not get there that trip. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Thank you. Booking it now.

Do SPG points earned from the spend of purchasing SPG points (if that makes sense) take longer to post than normal points? I purchased the max points of 30K SPG points for $682.50 a few days ago in order to buy a 7 nights Marriott N/F package. With that purchase, I'm still 2,316 Marriott (772 SPG) points short for the N/F. If I get double points on the SPG points purchase, I'll have enough. If not, I need to increase my spend on either the SPG or my Marriott biz card before the statements close. So, just looking for advice or data points on if I should expect those points to be in my account. Thank you!!!
As the only person who didn't get the extra points I'd put the extra spend on the card to be extra safe because you have too much at risk to gamble, that said I am basically the only person who didn't get extra points on that purchase :)

That seems like a crazy good deal! $199/night for a WALDORF ASTORIA?! And free breakfast for 2 and the spa credit, I've never stayed there but it looks beautiful so I hope you get to enjoy it!!

Yes the rate booking directly is $189 for non refundable. With all the perks included for $10 more, this is a screaming deal. I’m booked. There is a $35 Resort fee- discounted by $5 (normally $40) for FHR bookings.

Disney wanted $240 a night for a moderate-Port Orleans so this was an easy choice.

For those without the Amex Platinum, I’m pretty sure I saw the WA Orlando for $132 a night on Hotwire. Look for 5 star bonnet creek area. Bid on the listing that has a $40 Resort fee.

Lurker here! I've read the last 40 pages or so and saw discussion about transferring Disney res to Chase. What is the benefit? I assume you can pay with URs? I just received CSP card and have quite a few URs from two Freedom cards.
