@palhockeymomof2 I fly out of ISP regularly. Today I flew SW. Sometimes its JB or Frontier. They all stink. And they are all awesome. I wish I could find a clear winner to put my $ behind. Can I ask you how you decide who is worthy of a CC? I fly to MCO alot but my son might be transferring to a school in south florida. And the hubs and I have been eyeing a place near tampa. I am so confused that I am considering getting the frontier cc. I also think I may just stick with UR’s.

My kids are now 37 and 33 with their own kids ….I joined the Disboards when we purchased DVC in 2000 so the name was appropriate then, they both also played travel hockey and then college hockey…back then I was on the board and did the scheduling for half the travel teams…fun times…our best friends we met when my son was learning to skate at 5.
Anyway probably TMI
We have had SW credit cards for years and have had the CP also for years since we do not want to go to JFK or LGA when ISP is 10 minutes away(we live in Holbrook and get the town of Islip parking pass)….so one of us will always have one of their cards.

When Jet Blue came last year I decided to get their Jet Blue Plus card when the sign up bonus was 70,000 points.

So far this year probably 75% of our flights to Orlando have been on JB the rest on SW…our son and his family live there.
Can’t help with Frontier since we have never flown them…but our friends do since their son and his family live outside Tampa.
I base my decision on price and schedule…I’m willing to pay a bit more if the flight time is better for our schedule.

Back to CC, I was eyeballing a JB card as we are going to Hawaii in ‘26 to celebrate our 30th but they no longer partner with Hawaiian air. Honestly, a nonstop, non economy flight to Hawaii is my focus right now and I can not come up with a plan so most of my spend goes on my hilton card (5x groceries, 3 boys=biggest category) I am watching United to see what they will do at JFK (easy enough to get the train).
I am so confused!

Tangent here, but "no GPS" doesn't make sense. Much of the Grand Loop drive is out in the open, not under trees. You should have had no trouble getting a signal from the GPS satellites most of the time. Are you sure you didn't mean that you had a GPS signal but couldn't view your position on a map because you didn't have an offline map stored on your mobile device?

Ok yes. Google maps, Waze, etc had no signal. No 5G, no WiFi on my phone. I’m pretty old and not that tech savvy so wouldn’t even know to save a offline map.

Just chatted to close my Amex Hilton Biz. After asking me how much I planned to travel this year and if my biz was still operational, they offered me a $50 statement credit after spending $2k in 3 months. I closed the card. I had kept it open a second year because the higher AF hadn't hit yet. but, I was only able to use the quarterly credit twice, so it wasn't really worth it.

Looks like support bonuses for Chase Biz cards is dying on Oct 7th, if you are an existing Biz customer. Only new Chase Biz customers are eligible for the support bonus, according to new post on DoC.
I think I'll have to try my hand at one more Ink before this change takes effect... Not sure if I'll be approved since I currently hold one CIU and one CIC, but I'll try. Accumulating URs through churning is becoming harder and harder.

Got an Amex offer to upgrade my BCE to BCP for no AF for a year and $150 cash back after spending $1000. Just downgraded DH's BCP in May after his free year. It is hilarious to me that I have upgraded and downgraded my card at least 7 times over the past 10 years, they just keep offering me free money.

I put my spend on Chase cards since we use URs to book 2 or 3. Bedroom villas near Disney when we run out of DVC points, they can also be transferred to SW or JB if needed.
Congrats on your 30th !!….cant help with Hawaii planning we have never been but others here have and can maybe help with what airlines are best to save for.

Just went through my Amex offers to see if anything interesting posted for July. Out of 100 offers - 89 of them are 4%(mostly) to 7% back on a bunch of fancy overpriced websites that I ain't ever gonna use.

Don't get me wrong - the occasional good offer still happens - but they are few and far between these days.

My cousin has the Nordace Siena and I really like it. I have the Prvke from Wandrd and I really like that but only because it protects my camera, but it is heavy.

I did extensive research on backpacks and ended up with the Tomtoc 40L. It was under $100 and I've been happy with it. It's not perfect, but even the expensive ones didn't meet my "perfect" criteria.

I'm considering the United Quest card. It's 100k pts for $4K spend. It has a $395 AF, but it comes with TSA/GE credit and some, $200 travel bank and other benefits that help offset it. I've never had a United card. Anyone have info I should know about this card? I think my only other options right now would be US Bank or Cap1.

Yes! My husband has been getting the pop up for a year now on getting another Delta card other than biz gold. I actually tried a link this morning that didn’t work (pop up) but then tonight tried the DoC link it did finally work.

If you have been trying give it a try with these links. I suspect they won’t last long.

Final stretch of our Japan trip. Broke up our Tokyo time with a trip to Matsumoto. Went to the Wasabi farm - the wasabi ice cream is a must try. You can also see the water mills from Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams there. Also went to Matsumoto castle - be sure to be in good shape to go there. Some very steep stairs; worse than Himeji, but about the same as Hikone.

Stayed the night at Kai Matsumoto in a room with an outdoor onsen (since the girls would not go to the public bath). Kaiseki and breakfast were included. Absolutely amazing experience. They noticed it had been my husband’s birthday 2 days prior and at dinner included cute handmade crane and turtle figures with his dessert. They also presented us with the photo they took at the start of the meal. Well worth the price.

Back in Tokyo now and went to Teamlab Borderless which everyone loved. Went to Sunshine City for lunch and were just amazed by the fans for a K-pop duo that were having an event there. We just watched that for a while since it was hot outside & just a side of fandom you don’t always get to see.

I have bought a few styles of the Lovevook travel backpacks on Amazon and absolutely love them. It's almost like having an extra carry on bag.
