I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

I'm sure someone else will chime in, but I do believe the OG "plain" Freedom is still available as a PC. Maybe you could SM to ask what cards are available for PC from CSR? They won't PC but might answer what's possible.
Thanks I won't do it until after a couple of trips that I have planned as even if you use CUR points the insurance still covers you.

Hoping to get help with a couple questions about PC to a CSR from CSP:

1) I think I read that when you PC to a CSR you can double up on the $300 travel credit....how does that work?

2) My priority pass is currently tied to an Amex Plat but I believe the CSR is better. If so how do you attach the benefit to the CSR instead of Amex?

Thanks in advance
1. When you PC to a card the AF is delayed for a few months. I PC'd to the CSR in November 2021 and the AF posted in March 2022. You can use the $300 travel credit right away and then again a year later which would be a few months before you have to pay the AF again. I'm about to PC my CSR back to a Freedom since my second AF posted in March 2023 and I've already used the second $300 travel credit.

2. In the travel section of the benefits page there will be an option to apply for Priority Pass.

I believe I just received a scam call. Was told that Officer David Morgan from Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) was calling. First clue was he asked for my name; I stated that he was calling me and he should know my name -- seemed to hesitate for a second or two before coming up with my last name, then first. Next Officer Morgan told me that a package had been intercepted from Mexico -- was I expecting a shipment from Mexico? I said absolutely not. He then asked me to get a pen and paper and write down a case ID and his badge number (which I did). I then asked for his phone number so that I could call from a land line to verify his name, badge number and case ID. He said it was a criminal investigation and that he could not provide me with the phone number for CBP, to which I told him that I could call any police or border patrol organization in the world by simply looking up the phone number. He said "listen to me WDWGroupie, this is a criminal investigation and 2 charges have been filed against you and we are sending 2 police officers to your house." I replied "thank you, I appreciate it, when they arrive I need your phone number so they can get in touch with you". He seemed to be getting agitated and again said "I am sending 2 police officers to your house to arrest you" and I again thanked him as I appreciated the opportunity to speak with them personally and lucky for me my neighbor is an attorney and works from home, so I will have him be here when they arrive. Officer Morgan then hung up on me. So I am guessing this call wasn't legit. It lasted a grand total of 3 minutes.

Is anyone familiar with the Disney Rewards card and loading points to cards for redemption? We currently have 3 cards. I have 1 with $7 rewards dollars that doesn’t charge a fee and a linked redemption card with $13 on it. I can’t at the seven dollars I have in there to close out the account because I need $10 to add to the $13. I also have a fee bearing Disney Visa card that I’d like to close with $5 points that I can’t add to a $23 redemption card. DH has the no AF Disney Visa with $3 in points and $0 on a redemption card. I don’t know what we were thinking when we opened three of these cards, most of which we no longer use. DH really doesn’t need to reduce any of his limits or close any cards, but I definitely would like to eliminate at least one of mine. Should I just not worry about the small amount of dollars remaining to add to a redemption card and hold onto the redemption cards I have to use later? If I could add the $7 to the $13, that’s 20 bucks toward a gift card. Just curious if anyone has ever called and if they made an exception to allow you to add points if it wasn’t at the $10 minimum? Or is it possible for me to transfer the Disney visa points from one card to another?
Hmmm. I just got finished charging enough to get my cards to the required minimum to transfer. What helped me was when they put a 5% offer on the cards.....much easier to do the spend.

For the one fee card I would product change it and put it on the back burner until I had enough good reasons for using to get them up to the $10.

So it depends on your tolerance for sock drawered cards, where you could basically watch for a decent offer to come along. Also if you decide to keep them, drop or transfer the majority of the credit to a card you may use for a larger purchase.

I'm keeping mine for now and I've used them a little here and there. I also won't transfer all the DD's unless I'm going to use them or unless they are close to expiration.

Looks like I'll be using them in May as I just snatched up a chance to do Moonlight Madness at Disney Hollywood Studios on May 11th. Spent yesterday trying to book enough rooms and settled on using my 50K's to book the Swann for a few nights. I got the Standard night at Vero Beach which allows me to go to the event but I won't actually sleep there on the 11th as I don't want to do the drive late in the evening. Meanwhile, I've got waitlists in to try and get a room at one of the onsite hotels to substitute for the Vero room, and then I can drop the Swan night.

So I see I have my diamond status w/ Wyndham, so I guess it's time to start the Casino status run, LOL. Let's hope this goes better than it seems it has been! I'd love for the match to happen SUPER fast and do a day date to Philly next week during my Spring Break to knock out the matching, LOL.

United changed equipment for our flight to Ireland and now I am not sitting near DH and all available seats are worse than what I have. It's not so bad because it's just DH and I, but I would not be happy if I was flying with children. Seriously.... what is going on?
What is it w/ Ireland right now, LOL. I do think it just wasn't the right timing for us. So I'm okay w/ the postpone!

Yes, it's interesting, isn't it? Everything on a plane revolves around weight, even fuel. Not an expert by any means, and i'm sure there is more involved but, they need to be within certain limits for the take off, flight, and even landing. If they have too much for the flight they'd have to burn it before landing. I've heard of flights that had to circle the airport a bit before they could land to burn off fuel. So planes are fueled specifically for each trip. Someone must have read the wrong schedule or fell asleep at the switch. That sucks.

OOOOh, slight plane "expert" now, LOL. Yes, fuel and weight is huge! LCC and ULCC put JUST ENOUGH for the trip. So they can't hold for very long. My BF has had to divert on a few flights because of this. Fuel is what caused my Ireland trip not to happen basically too! JB wanted to add on extra fuel w/ the Nor'Easter and the possibility of circling. But the main door was stuck. Had we not needed the extra fuel we would have pushed and discovered the busted door when we got to BOS instead. But I think it was all meant to be as we would have gotten stuck in BOS afterall too! And yes, it impacts take offs and landings. Pilots can burn off fuel. Some dump fuel while flying too. Others like to fly extra fast to use more fuel and "stick it to the company" esp during negotiation times, LOL. Also the plane is weighted w/ passengers. Even before the BF I learned to check in only 1-2 hours before on Spirit if you weren't buying your seat, as they start to assign from the back forward. It's also why FAs will sometimes ask if you'd like to move, or tell you that you can't move until after take off. Apparently the plane's balance is calculated based on an "avg" weight for a passenger and their luggage. It's all thrown into a computer to figure it all out. The computer calculates based on how many adults, children, gender, etc.

Wow, that's a new one.

I keep getting calls asking to speak to a relative who died more than a year ago. When I ask why they are calling, they say they are calling from "The Medicare" and want to know if she received the new card that was mailed out last week.

I too received a call, not from CBP, but the IRS telling me that police were on their way to arrest me. It’s a bit disconcerting, but ultimately I thanked them for the heads up so that I could now flee before the officers arrived to arrest me. He hung up 😂 imagine if all criminals received a courtesy call before being arrested 😂

Not trying to make light of your situation. I was pretty agitated when I received the call, but now I just look back and shake my head and the ruthlessness of these people.

Thank you - I wasn't aware of a Corporate Gold card, so I was confused by the terms. I need to look for one more card with Global Entry/TSA precheck so I can get it for all 5 of us then. Thanks!
With the right card you can do this all for one annual fee. The Navy Federal Flagship card includes a GE/Pre credit for every authorized user as well as the primary cardholder. Another option is a PenFed Pathfinder card, it has no AF if you qualify for Honors membership, either a $500 monthly DD, $500 average daily balance or military service (current or prior)
Sorry to Hijack the question but wondering if you could answer this.

When downgrading is the original Visa Freedom available? I guess I could do the FU as I believe that is still visa. The Flex is a mastercard which would change my account #.
My memory is terrible but I do have my Reserve card memorized from so much use lol.
The original Freedom is still available for PC, but not for new accounts. I have not seen recent DPs but in the past Chase has changed some card numbers when going from a Sapphire product to a Freedom product.

Thanks for reminding me of why I do not answer any single phone call from numbers I don't know. There are some crazy scams out there! Basically the only calls I answer are from my husband and family. I won't even answer local numbers which I think could be a doctor office, etc. If they really need to get it touch, they can leave a voicemail, and I'll call them back. If they don't leave a voicemail, then it was never that important to talk to me.

I get solicitation type calls every day. Some may be scams but many are just cold calling to try to buy my house, or do home remodeling or repairs. Both are annoying so now I rarely answer my phone and have disabled my voice mail. I still take texts and get spam that way also. Plus the WhatsApp gets offers for porn. Delete and report.

My kids are annoyed that I don't have voicemail, but as an old person, I don't like being threatened with jail and arrest with regard to my social security, and numerous other scams.

That said, I now have 2 more (free) phone numbers since my service allows up to 9 lines to share my data. So I ordered sim cards and set up my old phones with new numbers. Since these numbers are only shared with my kids, I seem to get NO spam on either line. So, seems the biggest offenders in sharing my numbers are the people I do business with.

That's so frustrating. You could download the app Seat Alert by Expert Flyer. I think there are some paid seat alerts as well as some free ones. I have done it and it costs about $1 for an alert. You could put one in one for the seat next to DH or maybe for two seats together?

For our biz class flights with the kids, I read that I should put in an alert on the seats we've selected. That way if they switch equipment, our seats suddenly become available and I'd get an alert. I did try it and I did get an alert; turns out our flight was cancelled. So that was my only experience.

I think there are some other Pro programs that will notify of equipment change, but I think they have more expensive annual fees, and I'm "thrifty."

That happened to me on a United flight from IAD to Frankfurt last Spring. I was flying economy from Houston and meeting my sister at Dulles who was flying for the first time to Europe. Thankfully I was able to play musical seats so we could sit together.. I knew that my seat was changed ahead of time on that second leg.. I just assumed they put her next to me. I’m flying again to Germany next week but going solo. I think I’m going to go to Munich so I can go business class and not have to be next to a stranger. The train to my daughter’s home is not too much further than Frankfurt and I may even stay a night in Munich to sightsee on my own.
Hopefully you won't be affected by the strikes! Have a great trip and pre-congrats on your new grand-child. I'm looking forward to pics of your time there.

Thank you for these ideas. I'm pretty sure we're not eligible for the Navy Federal since no one is military, but I will definitely look into the PedFed Pathfinder.

I was also thinking about one of the IHG cards. I'm going to search back because I know there's been some talk about those cards on here.

Thanks again!

Login with your business account. Go to profile and settings and then the account settings dropdown. There will be an option to manage linked accounts. From here you should see your personal accounts and you can link them to your business login.
I was gearing up to call as the last time I needed to do a transfer I couldn't find the spot that you mentioned or it didn't work for me. Not sure if it was old person's user error or just not available at that time.

But anyway, works now, got it done so easily from my laptop.

I love the 'list' as I know my accounts by their last 4 and most of them I outright know the whole number by heart. I know, weird, but that's just how my mind works.

Thanks for posting this. It really helped. Now I'll stop procrastinating on making my Hyatt reservations.

I need to use the rest of my AMEX Platinum airline credits. From what I've seen Southwest flights under $100 usually trigger the credit. Has this been true for anyone recently?

I know that I'm late to the TS concert table, but dd has told me that "she'd sell her left kidney" to see a TS concert this summer. I tried to get on a pre-sale list (LOL) and tried to access TM on the day of ticket sales (bigger LOL). Sooo, my questions is this: is there any way to get TS tickets to a weekend concert this summer without selling an internal organ? I looked on StubHub and the cheapest pair of tickets were $700 and change each (in the nosebleed section), then I'd have to pay for hotel (airfare should be possible with points depending on city). We are fairly flexible with cities, would just need to be a weekend since dd will be working M-F. Any advice (I know it's pretty much hopeless at this point, but I'm open to suggestions)?

Thank you. This makes me feel better. If Chase had called me and told me that their electronic payment was returned I would've made an exception and given Barclays my Chase bank info because I'm paranoid about taking a credit hit. Now I'm worried about their check getting lost in the mail. I didn't even know that people, let alone businesses, sent paper checks in the mail these days. I'm old-ish and I don't even have a blank check to fill out to send to someone.
I won't let any additional users into my bank account. Disney Vacation Club has the ability to collect dues directly from my account. It's been going on since 2000 with so far no problems. Having it set up as a monthly debit allows me to use DGC's as I get them to apply to the balance, so for a few years now, they've never had to initiate a debit, as I keep ahead of the payment due.

If I were faced with having to do this, I would open a separate account and just put the required funds in the account on a monthly basis. It's easy for me as my Navy Fed account has no fees so long as I don't mess up.
