I'm finally getting excited about our November trip. I'm so glad we will be continuing the tradition of celebrating our kids 13th birthdays in Magic Kingdom! But honestly a little nervous that something will change between now and then to make the trip not possible. We know the parks won't be the same this time, but we will make the best of what we can! Here is my breakdown of points I'm using for it so far:
(Side note- I'm aware these may not be the "best" use of my points but at this point in time I would rather use them for something we are doing vs save them for something better)
-Hard Rock Hotel 2 nights- two rooms using SW points
-7 nights Copper Creek 2 bedroom using DVC points
-2 day park to park tickets to Universal x8 using UR's.
-$1800 in PYB to offset almost half of our Disney tickets
-8 flights to Orlando using 2 CPs and SW points
-8 flights home using Alaska credits

And now I'm nearly wiped out! As soon as this trip is done I will be focusing on some major earning.

All in all we have planned a trip for 9 people over 10 days and my out of pocket will consist of food and half our Disney tickets, which is absolutely amazing to me. We could not afford to travel this way without the expertise of this group. So thank you all again for the help and advice you give freely. 😊

That is awesome! I know how hard it is to pull together a Disney trip for a large fam and just how many points it takes. I hope you are able to take your trip!! Despite everything, my family had an amazing trip to WDW back in July. My dd20 just got back and while it was much busier than July, she also had a great trip. I do think there is still magic to be found there :)

Sounds terrific! I took DS to DHS today and OMG was it a mad house. We got there around 8:40 am. They started letting people in at 9:15 am. We were the 3rd family in line for SDD, TSMM wasn’t bad, had our BG for RoTR not bad and then the wait was on for MF (est WT 120 min took 60 min), ToT (EST WT 60 min took 60 min) watched the Disney orchestra show and DS was ready to go At 3 pm. Perfect timing as it started to pour buckets just as we left in our Lyft. It actually felt busier than when we were there in March. The line for MMRR was ridiculous and RnR was over an hour wait. The only thing not a 60 min wait was the Muppets. We had fun but it was hot and humid. We were definitely missing FP.

As a child I absolutely loved Dr. Seuss. It would have been basically the most magical thing ever to go to Dr Seuss Land. Thankfully for my parents’ budget none of us knew it existed. When I went to Universal for the first time in my 20s I was like “omg this would have been AMAZING!” (Yes. I rode the Dr Seuss train. And I will ride it again next time I go no matter how many looks I get 😂) Then when I went with my parents they were like “WOAH! If only we could have taken you guys as kids to this!”

So imho the offerings at Universal are indeed quite sparse for little ones, but I feel that one is so special that if you have a young one who adores Dr Seuss it very well might be worth it once.
Seuss land is awesome! USO has a Barney area For young children but I am not sure how much of it is currently open.

And sometimes a lot longer. There have been times they've posted asap and times they've taken weeks. Case in point - our trip to Bethany Beach and using the small business credits. I started with the crab something restaurant and then also did a couple other small businesses. Kept waiting on the crab restaurant to post, while the others posted in days. About a month later, the carb one posted.

And I agree - I think the Staples offer went to 12/31. I've used it already on the fee free Visa's 2 of the $200 ones.
I wonder if any of my missing small business credits will post. I had several that didn't credit. I tried chat a few weeks back to ask about one of them, an overpriced pizza, and the rep said that she could see the charge qualified, but the restaurant had not yet confirmed it. She explained that the restaurant had to do something on their end in order for me to get the credit. I don't know if I'll ever get the credit, but my DS's attitude put it in perspective for me when he said "at least we had a really good pizza."

That's interesting that the restaurant had to do something. My other Ocean City area charges posted almost immediately, and I had to keep watching for the one charge. DD and I ordered takeout from there because of the credit. We each had it on a card so did individual orders. And between us we spent about $75 on that dinner.

We probably will take him once he’s closer to like 5. I was just comparing to Disney where we can basically take him from day 1. I do like the dr. Seuss area. I can’t wait to take him to seaworld Sesame Street

Yes. We took DD when she was 10 months old and had planned to take her at 22 months old but COVID hit. The only reason we did that was because we have a big age gap and our teenage sons all wanted to go. It's so frustrating to take a toddler to Universal. The kids play areas (like Barney) are ok, but way old (I mean, my 19-year-old wasn't even into Barney - that's more from the late 90's). And what was most annoying to me is that almost everything in Seuss Land has height restrictions. She was unable to do almost all of the rides there.

The best part, for her, of the time there was interacting with Hashtag the Panda while waiting for the Jimmy Fallon ride (which, of course, she was too small to ride). But she LOVED Hashtag, and he loved her. We got some special treatment because of it.

I will say that we were unique and elicited some sweet responses from people as I don't think they see many babies at Universal.

I am still waiting on dh CIU app, from Wednesday (I think it was that day). He has never been denied before, but so far it's been crickets.
I would appreciate hearing how this turns out for you both. 🤞🏻
Woke up to an approval email this morning! CIU is in his online account. Only a $3k credit line LOL, how are we supposed to meet the spend with that?
Can I payoff as we go, or does Chase frown on that?

This is great news! Congrats! Has it been a while since his last Chase app? My DH’s most recent was 4 months ago, wondering if I should give it more time.

I have always cancelled all my AMEX cards with chat.
So I just tried it (had to use the app as for some reason the Chat area on my computer just spins endlessly)... told them I wanted to cancel; they asked why; I answered vaguely...

And then they said I had to call.

:rolleyes2

@KPK02090 I'll be interested to hear whether you were successful doing it over chat!

Congrats party:
as far as the spend...it’s $3k in the first 3 months...from what I have read Chase does not like people to spend over the credit limit in a month...you can pay the balance early but don’t credit cycle

Does the card you’re cancelling have an annual fee? They might want you to talk to retention and may even have an offer for you to keep it open.
