Today, I've been browsing online for a cute backpack. I was at Zappos.com because eBags.com is down. Anyway, I click on women's casual shoes and I'm given the following categories to choose from: athletic, dress, casual AND vegan.  "What the heck is a vegan shoe"?, I wondered. :confused3 It can't be!, I thought. So, I clicked on vegan and guess what came up? Those ugly Crocs!!!! :bitelip: :bitelip: :teeth: I know that a lot of DISers like them. I don't want to offend anyone's taste, but they are ugly to me. ;) :teeth:

Anyway, the point is that there are vegan shoes out there. :teeth: I never knew that there is such a category in shoes. :bitelip:

Well yeah. If it's leather (or has any animal products), it's not vegan.

There are vegan clothes, bags - everything!

Thats why Birkenstock came out with the Birkie line of shoe. There is no leather.

I guess since I do 99.9 % of my shoe shopping in actual stores and I've never seen a sign identifying leather-free shoes as vegan, I found it peculiar. :teeth: :teeth:

That Zippo site was a big rip off for Crocs. You can buy any Croc on the Corc site for $29.99

I'm not looking for Crocs, but I've noticed that their overall prices are higher than other companies. The bag that I'm looking for is cheaper at eBags.com. I'm waiting for their website to be done with the update to put in my order. :teeth:

I agree with you on that - I've never seen that on anything unless I am actually looking at a website which is vegan-related.

I guess they're just cashing in on the market :sunny:

I think they are ugly too Rita and never thought that I would buy any of them. But at my new store, the concrete floors are killing me and I am searching for shoes to wear there. Since so many people have raved about being able to walk around Disney wearing crocs, I broke down last weekend and bought a pair of bright orange beach ones, figuring that if nothing else I can wear them in the chicken coop since they can be hosed off :rotfl2: Anyway, as ugly as they are, I wore them to work and I LOVE THEM. My feet didn't swell and didn't feel bad by the time I get home. I got alot of comments, good and bad, about them, but I really didn't care. Best $29 I ever spent.

Jipsy, long time no "see"! :wave2: :wave2: That's what everyone says, they are ugly, but comfy. I guess the comfort is the reason they're so popular. :teeth: :teeth:
