Can I do this?

Send the majority of our group to Disneyland for a Magic Morning (They have 3 day passhoppers), get their passes from them (somehow?) then the few of us with annual passes go to California Adventure at opening and get some Fastpasses for the entire group?

Will they give us fastpasses if their passes have not been scanned into that park?

Thank you for your help!

As long as they are scanned in for that day (either park) you should be good.

Yes (I think so, see caveat below). I've done exactly that in the past, so from my experiences I would say yes, you'll be fine.

The wrinkle is that there was a thread a few days ago where someone said they told by a CM that they could not do that. However, they did not try, so it's not clear if really couldn't or if the CM was mistaken (which is not uncommon, sadly).

At this point, I would try because all other reports have said that as long as the ticket has been used to enter one park that day, it can be used to get FPs in either park.

Thank you for the link...I tried searching for the answer, but evidently didn't put in the right words! Funny that someone now is wondering the same thing.

I did just that. My cousins were here from out of town, and had Magic Morning at Disneyland. I met them at the turnstyle line, and once they went through, got their passes through the gate. I then went to California Adventure and just waited in line there. They let us in about a half hour before the park opened, and we got in line for fastpasses. I ended up chatting with some friendly people, so the time went by quickly.

One family found out from the cast member that you had to scan your passes at one of the parks, so they woke up grandma and grandpa, and told them they had to come to the park so they could get their fastpasses. They came, they left their tickets with the family and went back to the hotel to sleep. :)

I tried this in March and it did not work. :( My sons and I have AP's and my nephew had a one day PH. I left them in CA while I went to DL to get FPs for BTMRR. I could get FPs with the APs but not the ticket. I tried several times and just kept getting a 'This is not a Fast Pass...' CM confirmed that it was because the ticket had not yet been scanned at DL. :confused3

This really upsets me because I can see us wanting to do this when we go in November. The policy is on their website (as I mentioned above) and states:

Disney FASTPASS Service is available on a first-come, first-served basis for same day use, is subject to availability and is only available to Guests who have actively entered through any Disneyland Resort Theme Park Entrance Gates.

If they can't follow their own policies, then how are guest supposed to plan their visit? I will check again just before we go and if their website still says the same thing then I will print it out and bring it with me to show the CMs. That is just crazy!

I was not aware of this policy when I was there as I had never tried this before. Perhaps if I had pushed the CM on policy something might have been done about it. Hopefully this will not be an issue for you! Hoping the Disney magic is on your side during your vacation!

This is the first time I have heard of this not working in the last 10 years. Until I hear it happening repeatedly I will have to guess it was an anomaly. I have had occasions when I could not get a FP for the park when we were in - so that is an even more likely explanation.

I have had this happen with 1 ticket out of a group of 8. The ticket was simply not scanned properly. The CM at Soarin' was helpful. THAT SAID, at RSR they will assume the person hasn't entered a park.

EVERY TIME we are at the park, we head into DL for MM, and I take all the passes to DCA while my kids hit DL and get FP for RSR. We've done this since Cars Land opening, and did it as recently as the end of April.

This is what I have concluded happened to me as well.

Never happened at DLR BTW but did at WDW.
