I know you can upgrade tickets, but....?

I have 10 day, no expiration tickets (no hopper) that we used 4 days of in June. We're heading back in 3 weeks and I'm thinking of upgrading to a hopper. Is it too late to do that when we get there?

Thanks. I was just worried because I saw on another thread that you had to upgrade within 14 days of activation :confused3 .

Careful with your terminology.

It IS too late to upgrade them.

However, you can receive a pro-rated dollar credit towards purchase of a new admission.

When you or I think of upgrading, we think of getting admission that has more days or more options than what we currently have.

When a Disney cast member speaks of upgrading, they're talking about getting back the ENTIRE value of what you paid for the ticket towards more days or more options.

Seems trivial and nit-picky, but if you ask if the ticket can be upgraded, some lazy cast members may tell you no, and not let you know that you can get the dollar credit.

Had you upgraded within 14 days, hopping would have cost you $37.

The equivalent of adding hopping now, via dollar value trade up, will cost you $97.

If you also did the equivalent of expanding back to 10 days now that would all cost you $169. or $18. per added day.

(Expanding back to 10 days without trading up does not exist.)

Your 10 day non-expiring non-hopping ticket cost you $330. Six days remaining puts its trade up value at $198.

A new 6 day non-expiring pass with hopping costs $295. Seven days costs $309. Eight and nine days non-expiring are not recommended. Ten costs $367.

Darn. That's what I was afraid of. I guess we'll just have to make do. I don't know if it'll be possible to see the Osborne light and Fantasmic in one night, which is why I wanted the hopping option for another day. We may need to use 2 days for MGM, then, because I really want to see the lights this time (they weren't up in 2003 so we haven't seen them yet).

It is possible to do both. I am pretty sure I did it last year. Lights first and then Fantasmic.

And you might also be able to fit Fantasmic first and then run to see the Lights before they close for the night. (If I remember correctly, the lady sitting beside me was going to try that and when Fantasmic ended she still had enough time for a walk through)

It will all depend on when the Lights official turn on and what time Fantasmic is at. (oh and how long you plan to linger to look at the lights)

Maybe someone will be able to post the times and tell you before you leave.
I leave the same time as you so I won't be much help. ;)

Good Luck!

Thanks, wdwr. I am going to try to do both in one night and I hope I can. Have a great trip! :goodvibes
