but this is where I want to share my 200th post!
Thank you to all of you WISHers for keeping me on track for the past year!
I'd been thinking of writing up a summary of my year just past & this seems like a good time to do it.
I started my journey to better health 1 year ago on Jan 6, 2003. I had my gallbladder removed, & decided that would be my starting point for a new healthy me. I started on a diet of portion control & added exercise as soon as I was able, & managed to lose the first 6 lbs on my own. At that point I found WISH by noticing someone (i have no idea who) had a weight loss clippie & a link to WISH in their post on another board. Needless to say, I've been here ever since!
I was able to lose another 8 lbs doing portion control, but then I spent the next 3 months totally stuck. No matter what I did, the scale just wouldn't budge. All that time I watched many other WISHers on Atkins & finally decided to give it a try - the day AFTER my b-day!
Much to my amazement, it seems to be working! Not only that, I'm surprised that I have pretty much been able to stick with it! Well, except that over the last couple of months those darned carbs have been sneaking their way back into my diet! So I'm starting out 2004 with a renewed commitment to WISH & to Atkins. I don't get on line as much as I'd like to because the computer really needs to be replaced as it is not working as well as it should & it's just to frustrating to deal with on it's slow days. I don't want to replace it until after we move to FL, so I'll just have to manage for now. I'm back on induction since 1/1, & I've renewed my commitment to exercise as well. I've lost a total of 44 lbs this past year, a little short of my goal of 50 lbs, but I'm very pleased & happy with my results so far. I'm not exactly sure what my final goal weight will be, but I'm thinking right now about 40 more lbs should do it. I plan to discuss that with my DR later this month. I'm really looking forward to a healthy new year shared with my WISH family!
Thanks for always being here for me!
