If you pay for 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids) in your room but actually have 5 (3 adults, 2 kids) how would Disney know?

If you plan on attending any of the EMH's at the parks one person wouldn't be able to attend. Everyone receives a resort card now with their name on it.

The resort ID can also be a room key, so beside being shut out of Extra Magic, the 5th person wouldn't get a key. Depending on where you stay, there wouldn't be room for a 5th person. A safety issue is; in case of fire and the fire dept. is looking for people, there would be one unaccounted for in your room.

Technically, I suppose they could check the resort cards, but do they? We had our park tickets seperate from our room keys, and nobody asked us for resort ID when we went to the parks.

The only one who might be able to tell is the housekeeper, but I doubt that she's counting heads. You would only get 4 room keys instead of 5, but usually both kids may not need room keys.

Well I suppose you'd have somebody sleeping on the floor, which doesn't seem like much of a vacation to me. Besides that, it's what the others said...no ability to do extra magic hour for the 5th person...not enough towels or linens...a cramped room...fire hazard, etc.

I don't think they will know. If you don't do EMH, they will not know. As far as the room key, if you guys are usually together, it only takes one key to open the door, right? But you have four keys available. The two children can do without. Or one child can do without the key.

Depending on where you're staying.. some resorts do not ask for the room keys to swim at the pool. Of course if you're staying at the popular resorts, where they have popular pools such as SAB... then they will more than likey card you, which in this case, you will need a 5th key, unless they are not planning to swim.

So... how will they know. They won't know. If you're asking as to why Disney has limits on guests per room... that is another story. But you didn't ask that.

Then hide the 5th toothbrush. Hide the 5th person's shoes and other belongings. It's that simple.

Personally, I wouldn't do it. But I know there are ways around Disney's policy. I'm planning to take my parents and my two children with me for the Holiday, and I can't even bring myself up staying in the deluxe resort that sleeps five people, it would be crowded for me and no privacy! Anywhoo... To the OP, I'm not suggesting anything. It is your choice, your business. I was just asnwering your question.

I can't see myself acctually doing this anyway. I wouldn't want anything to compromise my trip and I'm sure I would worry someone might find out, which wouldn't be fun. Right now we have 2 rooms at the ASMo reserved and that's fine, but I was thinking how nice it would be to splurge and stay at WL. But since we like to go to WDW once a year, the only way it's possible is to stay at the All Stars!

I think you made the right decision to stay with 2 rooms at the All Stars. The rooms at the WL are very small and it would be very crowded. Now, if you were talking about the Polynesian or the Contemporary ...

You could also do a room at POFQ which has a trundle bed to sleep 5. From the reports, sometimes they charge an extra $10 or $15 for the fifth person per night, but not always.

I think you meant POR at the AB where they have trundle bed. That was my option too... but this will make it even more crowded cause the sq ft is smaller than the deluxe. I have the Poly booked right now and I am even considering two room at POFQ just for more room and privacy. Still debating as to where me and my family will stay.

Crissy... good choice. More room, you have your privacy, and less money than getting two rooms at the moderate or deluxe.

That's pretty unlikely to actually happen. What are they going to notice anyway? I would hope the maids aren't snooping in our belongings. I doubt they would know.

I applaud the OP for being honest and taking the two rooms. That way you don't have to be worrying if anyone is looking to see how many are in the room.

Here's my situation. We have one of these big family trips planned, and some people are coming for different lengths of time (because of school and work). In part of our original plan, my son and I have a room booked for a week. For the last two nights of that week, my daughter will be at WDW too. Then my son goes home and my daughter and I will check in at another WDW resort for 5 more days. I originally had my daughter sharing a room with my Mom, but now she doesn't want to do that, she wants to be in the room with my son and I for those two nights because we are connecting with another of my sons and his wife and their kids and she thinks we'll have more fun.

(I know, way too complicated. And that's just one part of the whole complicated mess!!)

So - will we get in trouble if we have her in the room for those two nights? We're not over the limit. I'm on the Best Rates plan thingy so will they charge me for making a change if I officially add her? Or should I just smuggle her in anyway?

Or should I make her stay with Grandma?

If you aren't exceeding the room limit I would just tell them when you check in. Many have reported that they weren't charged for the extra person at check in.

My family used to go to WDW every year. One year, my brother and his family came down as well. They weren't staying onsite but we were, for 2 nights at the end of the trip, they stayed in our room. We had 9 people in our room. Yes, 9 ... go ahead tell me what awful dishonest guests we were! Really though, it was just to sleep. They had park tickets and used them as they should but checked out of their hotel on I-drive early to spend a few days with us. They did NOT use the resort pools or anything.

No one ever said anything to us about it. It was tight, and not something we planned on doing and probably nothing we would do again but it worked and was actually kind of fun trying to figure out sleeping arrangements....4 people on the floor makes for a tight squeeze.

TP, If your daughter is listed in the room with your Mom, she would get her own key/ID and could use EMH. I would think she could "sleep" anywhere.

She is taking up the same towel usage/room space/pool volume weather she is in one room or the other. (now to avoid the flames, this is provided your Mom is the only other adult in her room)

It must be late so forgive me but I can only think about that Las Vegas comercial where the guy walks into his room to get the wake up call when he didn't actually sleep there.

I can see me running into a similar situation in Dec, my 4 yr old DD will probably want to "sleep over" her 3 yr old cousin's room at least once. : hmmm. maybe a way to get some private time?
