We are wanting to relocate to the orlando area and was wondering what the areas were to stay away from??? We are looking at a house in poinciana right now but not sure of the area??? any help would be greatly appreciated.. or maybe a link to one of the other threads that discusses this??!!:confused3

That is not near Poinciana. Have you gone and looked at any neighborhoods? Have you talked with a realtor? They would be able to help you with places to live. Are you trying to be near WDW?

What are you looking for?

we just started looking being closer to disney would be great but not the key deciding factor. we live in MD so it's gonna be hard to look at neighborhoods!

The real estate suggestions you've been given are good-but let me add one other consideration. If you need a job to live, have one BEFORE you get here. Unemployment down here is officially around 11%, but when you think about how many people are underemployed, working part time instead of full time, and how many have just plain given up...that number is MUCH higher.

I moved here a little over a year ago, and brought my job with me because I worked from home. I got laid off in July and I'm now working for a temporary agency in a position that pays about half of my former salary. I'm grateful to have a job that pays even that much given the climate around me, I do not regret my decision to move here and I'm not going back, but I do want to point that out to anyone considering a move.

My family just bought a house and moved to St Cloud. We are loving it! We're close to WDW without being in the middle of tourist country. Think about the Narcoosee or Lake Nona areas, both are convienient to the Osceola Parkway (30-40 mins to the gate) and have really nice housing areas. There is a really large medical complex going in at Lake Nona so there's a lot of growth over there right now. PM me if you'd like to talk to my realtor about your needs. She's an absolute gem!

Thank you! I probably will PM you within the next couple of weeks school only has two more weeks and I am DONE!!! YAY! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!:worship:

You're welcome. When DH and I were hunting, we fell in love with the small town feel of the city. Now that we're here, we're impressed with how quiet it is and the friendliness of the residents. We actually live near East Lake Toho and the recreation area that was put in last year.

Drop me a note whenever you're ready, I'll send her info along. :goodvibes
