Is MK doable during the taping of the Christmas day parade? We have heard rumors that taping will be Dec. 1st, 2nd and 3rd. We are arriving on 11/30 and leaving on our first Disney cruise :boat: :sail: on 12/3. So do you think we should even try to go to MK or go to other parks? We are returning on 12/7 and attending MVMCP :santa: party: that night and staying in the world until 12/11. Maybe after we return we should do MK then?
Thanks to all.

It only really affects Main Street and the Castle Stage.

I don't spend much time THERE anyway.

The rest of the MK should be relatively empty (certainly compared to the busier times of year.)

Look out for ME though, I'll be down during that time as well.

:thumbsup2

We have been there on taping days and the only bad part was Main Street. Once we got away from there, the rest of the park was nice. Parking was also a little hectic and we were further away than normal.

When you come into the park, to bypass Main Street some, head into the stores and you will miss much of the crowd, coming out near Casey's.

We were there last year on Sat of the taping and had a voucher for the afternoon taping. We were at the park at opening - jumped right on the train and headed back to Splash Mt. We spent the entire morning doing rides with very little/no wait - we totally avoided the Main St area. By noon the lines were starting to get quite long, so we watched some of the taping from the castle and then over by Liberty Square while we had our silhouettes done. On our way out, Main St was a ZOO - but everyone seemed to be having fun - we took some pics of Regis and Kelly at the front of the park and headed out to check in for our taping - they were sending us to the end of LONG lines of people outside of the entrance waiting to be let in with vouchers - we decided to head over to GF and check out the Gingerbread House instead.
My theory on why the park gets so crowded by mid-day is that the vouchers for taping did not require a park pass for the day - and once people got tired of/or done with the parade taping, they moved into the park to enjoy the rides.
This year DGrD and I are going to start Fri (our last day) with breakfast at CP @ 8AM - then do some rides and watch the parade taping from the 'outskirts', have a late lunch at Tony's and maybe watch some more taping if we can eat outside - then head for the airport after our final dose of Christmas Magic!! :santa: :smooth:
