I'm sure everyone has certain things that really remind them that "It's official! I'm really going to WDW!" Well, I had one yesterday-I bought my notebook. It's a little spiral notebook, and now I get to fill it with all the fun things like my PS #s (& times), park hours, recommended resturaunts and foods, comments on BCV, etc., etc. Then of course, I bring it with me and make notes on my reactions to rides, foods, activities, etc. Now, let the planning begin! What do you all do that says "Now we're going for sure!"?

Mine is a little different than yours. I have nightmares that I forget things like money, to make PS's, my son's autograph book. That's when I know my trip is close!!!!!!!

start to panic  !

do we have enough money?

did i buy everything i need?

are the ps's made?

am i in order at work?

do the kids have everything they need?

will the driver pick us up at the airport?

will we have to come back home???

yep, my trip is close and i'm in panic-mode!

I know that WDW is just around the corner when I start the countdown on my classroom board! 40 days and counting!

I know my trip to Disney is coming soon when:

I have to tell my kids almost daily, "No, we can't get that or do that because we're going to Disney soon!":hyper:

I am starting to have a combination of things happen.

First of all, I was just thinking about getting a notebook for the same reason! To take notes and keep times and schedules in. The thought of keeping that notebook is getting me really excited!

I am also having the memory overload problem. Did I bring the MNSSHP tickets? Do I know when my flight leaves? And all the good ideas I'm getting here - like dish wipes for our refillable mugs!

I think I'll get the suitcases out tonight, seeing them down the hall on the guest bed should just about make me dance everyday!

Did I mention, only 5 MORE DAYS until ONE WEEK in Disney!!!:sunny:

I know my trip to A N Y T H I N G Disney (HH, VB or WDW) when I start checking the Delta Airlines website (where I purchase my plane tickets) and check to see the pattern of on-time/delayed flights for the same flights I have.

When I am worried if I packed too much, or not enough......I packed 4 months ago. :hyper:

The suitcases are out

I take my list to the store

I remind my mom that she is babysitting the dog

I can't think about anything but Disney

Every sentance includes a reference to Disney

I know I'm almost leaving when I fill out the "Hold Mail" card at the post office!! I'

Well, for this trip, I'll know it's almost time when I start booking everything! :rotfl:

But usually, packing does it for me!

When I buy the plane tickets, then we're committed. I can use Hopper Passes anytime and cancel resort ressies on a few days notice, but the airfare is good only for the dates chosen or for credit towards another date only for 1 year. When I make this purchase, we're as good as there.

When I'm the one who fills out my DH's request for time off because he can never remember the right dates.

When we are actually driving out of town and the bags are in the truck, and we are ROLLING down the highway to hit I-4!!

We have had to cancel so many times in the last year for our vaction to Disney, that even the night before we were supposed to leave, we had to cancel and there I was unpacking suitcases that I had packed months before hand!! That was awful!!!!! I just had tears running down my face while I was unpacking!

I used to be like most...the "Did I do this, do that, Do I have this done", etc and I used to get hyped up when my reservation paper came in the mail......now I just get on the DIS boards, read, relax, and keep my fingers crossed that we dont have to cancel for the gozillionth time!!!!! That way, when I get to Disney, I can really relax and have fun. :)

I got my PHP's yesterday and that got me a bit excited. We don't go until jan...it's going to be a long few months. :earseek:

..like K, P & J's Grandma, I start to get very excited when I've made the last payment... I paid the balance on flights and 2nd week apartment and car last week, ordered my park tickets last friday (from mapleleaf) and paid the 1st week villa this morning!!! All I have to do now is get my currency and traveller's cheques.

The trip starts proper for us in the cab on the way to the airport... whilst I hate going home, I love the day spent travelling out there, although admitedly, coming from UK, I'm a bit less agreeable towards the end.. but the day's full of little milemarkers..." only 10 minutes before the cab comes, now kids!", "only another 7 hours on this plane, kids!" "Groan" (kids!), "only another hour on the ground at Philly" etc, etc!

I know when I've finally arrived 'home' when we drive under the arches the next morning and all the road signs turn purple!!:teeth:

I know when my trip to Disney is close when I spend all my time on these boards and nothing else gets done!!!

I know my trip is close when I have to tell my dd's(3 & 6) that the trip is actually about a month away when it is really only 9 days away.

If they know that the trip is close, they tend to not sleep very well because they get excited. I tell them the trip is still a few weeks away, and then on the morning we are to leave, we surprise them and say today is the day. It is bad enough that I don't get any sleep for several days beforehand, because f my excitement.

This year, we leaveon a Wednesday, and we will pick my older dd up at school just before lunch. We will surprise her at school by picking her up and going straight to the airport!

I know when they are older this won't work as well, I'll have to come up with new ways to surprise them.
