I know it's early, but...F&W dinner, wine question

I know this is early, but it's been nagging at me... Here's the deal: I cannot drink red wine, not even a sip, without getting a raging migraine. My boyfriend and I would love to try one of the F&W signature dinners, but I'm afraid that it won't be that great for me since I can't do the wine pairing with reds.

I have a two part question to this...1) Does anyone know if I mention my red wine "allergy" at the time of booking, can they accommodate me? I know they do for other allergies, but this is a special event, which leaves me curious.

2) Last year they did a champagne pairing from Moet & Chandon for one of the dinners. That would be awesome if they did it again, I know I can have champagnes! Do they list the wineries with the location of the dinners or do you only find out once you get there that evening?

To be honest, I'm sure we'd probably go no matter what. At the very least I'll be able to drive back instead of taking a cab...so there's that...

It won't do you any good to mention an allergy when booking for a F&W event - those are just Disney Dining CMs and their job is to get everyone through the hell of day one booking as quickly and easily as possible.

Having said that, just mention it at the event you're attending - I would suggest saying something to the hostess / manager when you check in and then again to your wait staff. Simply tell them you can't drink reds and there should be no reason why they can't keep pouring whites for you throughout the evening.

You have to be careful even with something like the champagne dinner - Disney reserves the right to change any and everything right up to the start of the event, as evidenced by what happened at the Jiko dinner last fall. I don't think they typically announce the wineries in advance although in some cases they do. When you book a signature event you're sort of taking a leap of faith that everything is going to be fabulous - details about the menu and the wineries are rarely released in advance.

Thanks I figured that they didn't release the winery, but since I've never done the dinners, just seminars now, I wasn't positive.
I'll definitely mention it to the host/ess.

You could try calling Tables in Wonderland after all the booking excitement calms down and speakwith someone there in advance of any event like that you may book. They might be able to help you in advance. Just a thought ...

I went to one of the pairings once and it turned out to be a champagne pairing and I don't like champagne. Mentioned that to the manager and she saw to it that I had red and white wines plus the champagne. There usually isn't a dinner with just red wines. Ask for an alternative if you can't drink the reds. They will find something for you.

I can't help you, but I wish I'd thought doing that. I have the same problem as you with red wine, and at the events I attended last year I just stuck with water.
