Do we stay 7 nights at WL or 8 nights at a moderate (for $500.000 less)? We've been teetering for weeks. When we stayed at the POP with one child we were uncomfortable with the full size beds. Now we have 2 children (7 & 2) and are uncomfortable paying more money for the moderates which have the same size beds. We booked at the WL for comfort but keep thinking we could stay an extra night at a moderate and save money if we could just talk ourselves into "roughing it" with the small beds. When we stayed at the POP it was for 3 nights and I'm wondering if maybe we just had a hectic, sleep deprived experience that made us think the bed situation was worse than it was. Or was it really as bad as we remember and 8 nights in full size beds with 2 kids would be crazy? If we have a longer more relaxed vacation, maybe the beds will be fine. ***All of this without even mentioning the bus boat service to MK from WL. It sounds like WL is best but I can't seem to let the extra night and huge savings go. :confused3

Sounds like the bunk beds at ALK or WL would work best for you. I don't know about you but I wouldn't care about a few bucks if you don't get a good nights sleep! If beds are important to you than get the right lodging that works for you! The only moderates that have a trundle are POR-AB section but again, I would recommend the bunk beds.

Good luck!

I would stay at the moderate - I know it says both the value and moderate have the same size beds but my 6'5" son-in-law swears that the moderate beds are a bit larger - he should know ...... You can always use a pack and play for your 2 year old - we have taken a single size air mattress and it also works very well.

How about doing 4 nights at a moderate and 4 nights at the Wilderness Lodge? That way you can still have your longer stay, but if the sleeping situation is bad as you remember, you would know that it was only for 4 nights.

Was it you and your hubby that had trouble sharing a bed? Maybe you could split up and sleep with the kids at first? Or if you choose to go with POR you would get a trundle bed for the 7 yr old to use. Then you could put the 2 yr old in a pack and play, and you would be all set. Eveyone would have their own bed. I normally wouldn't suggest you and your hubby sleep seperate, but I'm thinking there won't be much romance going on with the little ones in the room anyway.

This is a hard one. I have stayed at both resorts and I enjoy both for different reasons. Aside from the bed arrangements the rooms are similar in size, wl slightly larger. I like the blacony you get at WL . When we were at WL we had a bunk bed room hoping to have more space but the pack and play made the room a little cramped and I could not relax because my youngest kept trying to climb up the bunk ladder.
Moderates are more spread out and WL is all under one roof. The food court is better at the moderates. Pools are great at both. Towels are provided at both pools.
Good Luck!

we have a king at home and even sleeping one adult and one child to a double its still uncomfortable for us, EVEN just the adults in a queen is too much for that many nights. I guess it depends on what you sleep in at home. It it us a queen, stay at WL.

Is the food court at WL not anygood?

The full size beds were uncomfortable with Hubby and I together AND with one of us and a little one (who wiggles a lot). I think most of all, the beds at POP were just really hard. Maybe that was more the issue than size.

WL, and all deluxes, don't have a 'food court'. They all have a quick service/grill kind of place. Sometimes people expect the big food court that you find in mods and values and are a little disappointed (or a lot!).

Thanks J.C.&Ali's mom: I did assume that the "food court" at a Deluxe would be bigger and better than the mods or values. We generally eat a food court breakfast and might need to make sure that Roaring Forks can suit us for 8 days. I thought that I had researched this one but I'll definitely get back on it!!!!!!!!

Have you priced out a Family Suite at All Star Music? They have a queen bed in the bedroom and pull outs in the living room.

They are cheaper than a room at WL.

Yep, I was very disappointed in the lack of offerings at Roaring Forks. I love the themeing of WL...the resort is absolutely gorgeous, but found the rooms to be too dark for our taste which made the room seem even smaller than what it really is. Our family, even the children, like CBR over the WL. I just asked them a little bit ago if they could choose where to stay the next time we go they said either Yacht & Beach for the pool or go back to CBR.

Another vote for POR with a trundle bed.... then you can have your 8 nights and a little extra room.... I am all for staying longer... the beds at the mods are perfectly comfortable.....
