I read a post earlier this morning and it said that they were planning on sleeping in a few days during their trip. I know i'm not the only one who absolutely does NOT sleep in during my WDW vacation. Both DH & I are up at the crack of dawn, showered and ready for a full day at the parks...I know that we won't be able to do this when we start bringing our kids (starting our family when we return from our October trip)...so we're enjoying it while we can....Come on Disney Nuts....you with me?????!!!!! :teeth:

My family is with you on that one. We want to spend every minute possible in the parks. We're up for the bus to make it to whatever the early open park is every am. Of course, my kids are 15 and 17, that makes a huge difference. They are ready to go.

They woke up this morning and announced "Only 26 more days till we go HOME".

Surely there are more of us out here!

We have two kids, and I still insist that we are at the parks before the parks actually open. We are going again in June (there will be 10 of us) and my brother & his girlfriend are saying they will be sleeping in every day. It's vacation!-get out there and do stuff!! I say, if you want to sleep, then stay home or take a vacaction to a beach somewhere. Not Disney. We made them get their own rental car so they won't slow us down. We will have so much accomplished by the time they catch up with us later in the day. Whenever we ride by the front entrance to MK on the railroad after having been there already for 1 1/2 hours and seeing all the poor souls standing in line to get in I think "saps". Let them sleep in - that means less people at opening for us to deal with.

We never sleep in. :yay: There is way too much to do at Disney for that! I guess it's nice some people do though, b/c it make my mornings more relaxing. :thumbsup2

Up and At 'Em!! My DH and DS are always afraid that I won't go to sleep -period!! They've said that if WDW was open 24 hours - I would be there 'round the clock!

We are at the park EARLY. We always take advantage of the early entry parks too. We have DS8 and DD2. They are usually up early at home anyway, so this isn't a big deal for them. We have a blast all morning, have lunch and then head back to the resort to swim/relax for a couple of hours. My FIL was at Disney with us one year. We met him coming to the parks as we were heading back after lunch. Park was super crowded by that time and we had already ridden everything we wanted.
I love all the late sleepers though. It is what makes our mornings so enjoyable. My favorite Disney words ever are "No wait".

I can sleep at work when I get home! :lmao:

We are always up early and at the parks ready for a full day. We usually do plan a day at the end of the trip at home, to rest, relax, do laundry at our leisure. That helps to recover and get back in the groove of everyday life.

Ok, guys...here is a DISer who sleeps in! :wave2: My DH, DD7 and I are NEVER out of the hotel before 9 a.m.! I guess we are slackers, huh? I dunno :confused3 just doesn't seem like vacation to me if I have to wake up early. Maybe one morning, on our upcoming October trip, we will wake up early and see if it is what it is cracked up to be!!!

I guess it is better for ya'll to have lazy bones like us around...more room for you at the parks!

We're going for 11 days and I plan to be up and at em early this trip, back to hotel for a rest after lunch and then out again a few hours later to close the place down. We have two children (4 and 2 at the time of travel), and want to be considerate of their clocks, but still get a lot done.

I'll let you know how it goes for us!

My DH & I went by ourselves last May for our 10 yr. anniv. :lovestruc and we were up early every day!! We were at the parks before opening and even for the am EMH for Epcot one day. We had such a blast and it was nice getting things done early. We slept in one day and went to breakfast at the Kona Cafe and that was nice....but I felt like we were missing all the action!! We are going again in Sept. (8 of us!) It will be me, DH, our 2 DDS's, my parents and my brother and SIL. I already told them that we will be up early every day. If they come, then that's fine. But if they want to sleep in, then we'll see you later!! LOL! :) I know my brother will be sleeping in.

I figure.... If I can get up at 5:15am everyday for work.... I can surely be up by 6 or 6:30 for DISNEY!! :thumbsup2
Sunrise is my favorite time of day anyway.... so it's nothing for me to be up and ready to go.
It is great to be able to go for a quick morning walk while the family is getting ready.
DD is all for getting up. When she was younger it was tougher. She is 15 now and I convinced her that she would feel more energized if she kept to a healthy eating and sleeping routine. She is TOTALLY convinced!! So last year she got up and went on the walks with me.... then we were off to the parks before opening.
DH was the one that struggled with getting up early. He is one that thinks "it's vacation.... I should be able to sleep in!" But he isn't as big of a WDW fan as we are.
So we left him home last year and this year too. :rotfl2:

We do usually have one day that we plan to "sleep in"... till like 8:30. :rotfl2:
That will be the morning after EMH in MK... plan to be there till 2am! :rotfl2:

I am up early anyways, but at Disney I am up early and really happy!! My DH loves to sleep in and be lazy and I was worried in December when we went but he had no problems getting up early too and he got up and was happy!! (I did warn him that when I am at Disney and in the "zone" he needs to go with the flow!) :) He said EMH was worth getting up early for! I knew he would see things my way! :yay:

Well the way the ARMY is currently making my DH work every single day, even the weekends when all the rest of the soldiers are off, I'm sure we'll be sleeping in. As much as for once in my life I'd like to be at the park right when it opens, I don't think I'll die missing that. I mean for heaven's sake, I actually got him to go back this year, that in itself is a feat so if he wants to sleep in oookay, at least I can marvel at the BC gardens and pool! I will try my hardest to get him out of the room by 10 am though.

Well I was full of good intentions last time, and for the first couple of days I was up with the birds (Although that probably had more to do with the 5 hr time diff than anything else) but I'm ashamed to say that as the holiday wore on, I relied more and more on Mickey and Stitch to get me up :goodvibes and one day when they rang I just went back to sleep  And I can't even use the excuse that I was late at the parks, cos I've never yet been kissed goodnight....... :sad2:

Since my kids get up at around 6am anyway it makes no sense for me to try to sleep in. I've actually rarely made it to the parks by opening and I am probably going to hit every park early this time around and take advantage of early openings.

Sleep is for the weak! LOL! DH and I are up at the crack of dawn. I like to open and close the parks. Last year, we were usually one of the first people at each park (at MK we were the second people in line!)

I hate missing a second of fun, so we also do not go back to the resort to nap. We do eat TS for dinner, so that is when we relax.

When my kids were younger (under 5) - if we did a late show / parade then I let them sleep in. Now however it is UP & OuT!!!

*shuddar* sleep in (gasp)!!! No way.... its Disney! You have to get up and go go go. :thumbsup2

I was brought up by a family that when we visited Disney we were up and at em first thing as early as the parks opened.. Then when I started going with my DH he would always choose to sleep in a little bit, nothing extreme, but not at all as early as I wanted to be out and about!
This time around, I will be 6 months pregnant, and it was a feat enough to get him to agree to take one more trip back to the world just the 2 of us, (we were just there in October). I think we both will opt to make this a more laid back Disney trip. He's happy about that because I wont be buggin him to hurry up before we miss out on the mornin fun :confused3
