I have a ton of questions! I've loved Disneyworld since the day it opened and now I want to have my wedding there. My fiance and I need to come up with the money and needless to say, we're looking for the most economical way to go. We're looking at the cruise line as well as a Disney location. We are getting married in 3 years and we will have a dual celebration with my folks' 50th Anniversary and family vacation.

Any ideas are GREATLY appreciated! By the way, I LOVE Cinderella and was heartbroken to see the cost of that location. :confused3

Thanks in advance,
Cherie

Hi Congratulations!

It's never too early to start planning... i got engaged in 2007 but are not getting married at disneyworld until 2010 so still cant book anything yet but ive been on here for over a year now anyway soaking up everyone else's wisdom.

I am in Florida in 20 days time so me and my fiance are going to view the wedding pavillion and then fingers crossed in November 2008 i can finally be pencilled in.

Depends how many guests you are going to have as to how economical you can make it. if you are having less than 20 guests an Escape wedding could work but that is only for the ceremony itself... if you want disney to take care of everything then a Wishes wedding is the way forward... that has a minimum spend of $10,000 but this minimum can increase depending on what month and what day of the week you plan to marry on.

Check out disney weddings website... you can set up a wish book for all 3 options (escape, wishes and cruise) and it will total up the things you want so then you can see if it's something you can manage or not.

Good luck and keep us updated!

Congratulations!! I am planning early too!! (For 2011) but it can't hurt to get a headstart!! :)

Congratulations! Never too early...I'm still waiting for my ring (AHEM! BF!) But he's worth the wait. I tell people I have a pop-up wedding..he asks and the rest just pops-up ready to go... He has even planned some stuff...
Have fun!

I am planning on being a 2010 Disney Bride too. I have been lurking on these boards for months. I am still trying to decide between a Wishes and Escape wedding. It is amazing how quickly the time can go. I was wondering how early can you be pencilled in? Thanks for the info ladies. You all have so much knowledge and great ideas I can't wait to learn more and start planning my dream day.

welcome! I am here planning for our 7/2010 20th anniversary VR . I have gotten alot of wonderful ideas here and have done alot of things already in terms of favors, flowers, invite prototype etc because I have the time currently to do that and I figure the more I can get done now the less there will be later-(yeah sure my DH says)... We will go down to wdw in 7/09 probably for the last time before our VR so I want to have alot of things in my head and done etc. I hope to be able to schedule a site visit though I am pretty sure what locations I want.... welcome and have fun:goodvibes

Hi everyone! Glad to see I'm not the only pre-engagemnt planner!

I can't decide between wishes or escape either. :)

Congrats!

As far as i am aware and i hope this hasnt changed since i am at the start of my planning too that if you have a wishes wedding they will pencil you in 18 months prior to the date you want but depending upon your venue they cannot confirm your booking until 8 to 12 months prior to the day.

For escape weddings you cannot be pencilled in and have to wait until 8 months or 12 months prior to the day to book (again depending upon the location)... i believe any location that is a conference location can only be booked 8 months prior but non-conference locations are 12 months prior.

Hope that helps... it's so hard being patient but we're all doing a fantastic job at it lol :goodvibes

Escape weddings can book 12 months out for outdoor locations and 8 months out for the Wedding Pavilion. :thumbsup2

Actually, I think it's reversed -- we could only book SBP 8 months out (escape)... is it longer for the wedding pavilion? :confused3

Is the wedding pavillion just that one indoor room? I dont think my party would be able to fill it...

Nope! It's 12 months for outdoor sites like SBP and 8 months for the Wedding Pavilion. Check out "When Can I Reserve My Wedding Date" here. There has been an exception where Sunset Pointe was unavailable to book more than 8 months out due to renovations on the backup ceremony location, but those will be done by the time the OP wants to book.

Many people get married there without filling it. In fact, I would say that I have never seen it filled - it seats something like 300 people :scared1: But lots of small groups have been perfectly happy there. :goodvibes
