I KNOW I'm crazy but I just cancelled my Le Cellier for lunch!

Ok, am I crazy or what? First time EVER it was opened for lunch in May. I've tried time in and time out to get a meal there and was so happy to run across it. However, now that I looked at the new menu I wasn't really impressed. Decided to do something that I KNOW we will like instead.

So. . . just how crazy am I?

Restaurants should always be YOUR preference. Go with your gut. If the menu doesn't excite you, find one that does. Example: a vegetarian eating at the best steakhouse in town IS going to be disappointed!

You are NOT crazy. Everyone has different preferences. There are plenty of restaurants people are always recommending a WDW that just do not appeal to me. I do like Le Cellier but I love steaks! However, I did cancel mine so that I could grab Ohana when it opened up bc I prefer that over Le Cellier. It's all about preferences.

Le Cellier is a very popular restaurant, but there are also people who consider it to be nothing special. Go with your instincts and don't worry about whether or not you're in the majority.

Well, if you're crazy, I'm crazy, too, because I also cancelled our Le Cellier lunch ADR for Febuary. Just didn't work out with our (admittedly very loose) touring plan.

As a side note: I had no problem making the reservation at well within the 180-day mark (more like 90-day mark). Perhaps the bloom is off this rose?

Just so I'm clear on this...do you want a percentage, a "1-10" rankings type score or just a constructively critical adjective?

We love LC, but I wouldn't lose too much sleep if we had to miss it on a trip...(just not THIS trip!)

Do I think you are crazy? Not at all, like others have already said it is all preference, and if you prefer something else then so be it. Now, would my family think I was crazy if I gave up our Le Cellier lunch for something else?...Let's just say I would have some very nasty looks coming my way at the dinner table . Le Cellier is a must do for us, and there are a few ADRs that do not get touched and Le Cellier is one of them. Have a great time on your trip and enjoy whatever meal you are going to have .

Your not crazy!!! I really dont think your missing anything! I wasnt impressed at all with Le Cellier. There are far better options out there in Disney.

You're most certainly not crazy. We went back in August and I happened upon an opening for lunch and had room for more ADRs so I figured we'd try and it see if it even came close to the hype. It was good, but it doesn't hold a candle to the best steak I've ever eaten. Mind you, the best steak I've ever had was from a local fine dining establishment owned and operated by a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, but the Le Cellier steak wasn't even as good as my fave mid grade steak house steak either. I'm not saying it was Golden Corral quality, but after eating my LC steak I remember thinking "all this hype for that?!?! really?!?!?" I know I should think "everyone is entitled to their own opinions," but now that I've tried LC- I feel sad every time I read a post saying their filet is the best steak the person has ever eaten. I had the cheddar soup (dipped my pretzel bread), had the famous filet, and the maple creme brulee...and the only thing I really truly enjoyed and would LOVE to have again was the pretzel bread. I guess I can at least say I tried it and have my own personal opinion...but based on that ... you're not missing a thing!

Your not crazy at all; I would call it wise!

LeCellier can be found in just about every city in this country operating under the name Outback, Longhorn, or Roadhouse. Average steak, but nothing special.

hmm, not crazy, but capricious- maybe you should have checked around first... we ate there for lunch last week and it was probably our best lunch of the whole trip- shared the burger- def the best i have EVER eaten

Not crazy! I cancelled my LC ADR for January after we had the samplings of the Cheese soup during F&W. That was one of the 2 reasons I wanted to go to LC. The other was because it was a coveted ADR..... Well I wasn't impressed and dbf said it was either Artist Point or LC.... So we are gonna go to Artist Point instead.

Not crazy, we enjoyed eating there on our last trip.....that being said I would not use 2 TS credits to eat there.

Nah, not crazy. We just made a lunch ADR for LC for our Jan trip, and we're a little wary. The past few times we went (PRE-Dining Plan) it wasn't as great...but that was for dinner. We've always enjoyed lunch there, and we're hoping since we'll be there way early in the day it won't be too crowded.

Having said that, we might come to our senses, cancel it, and switch back to Chefs. Who knows!

I don't think you are crazy at all. I know that place is very tough to get into, which always made it seem like a must-do to me. When I did go, however, I ended up being underwhelmed. Just not a personal favorite of mine. Now we know to not worry about trying to get in, and sticking with the restaurants we know we like (and are a little more affordable).
