I have been going CRAZY  trying to figure out which Maclaren stroller to buy for my DD who is 2. I know that several people on DIS have them and I would like some help if possible. When we went to WDW in April, we rented a stroller from the transportation service that we used to pick us up at MCO. The only problem was that it was really hard to get it on the bus because it was too big and heavy so we want to buy a lightweight one for our trip in Sept. 06. I would really appreciate the help. Oh, and were is a good place to buy one from?
I'm so confused, my DH says that I'm making this way to hard, it's only a stroller!!!! :rotfl2:
THANKS ALOT!!!! :disrocks:

We just bought the Volo for our upcoming trip. It's the smallest and least expensive Maclaren--handles very nicely, folds up small, and has a basket for storage and hood for shade. It does, however, recline, so if that's important to you, get a different model (the Quest I believe does recline). Even the Volo can handle a 55 pound child, so you'll be able to use it for a long time. I'm so thrilled with the one we bought! I wish I'd had one before.

I have the quest for my 16month old daughter. It reclines and is lightish to move, but the shopping basket is sooooo tiny. You would need to consider a backpack or even a net basket to attach to the back. Would also recommend getting the weights for the front wheels so it doesnt tip when you take your child out.
Hope this helps.

Macs are becoming the (un)official stroller of WDW. You can pick up a 2005 closeout for 25%-50% off through specialtybaby.com. The only thing that you'll need to decide is how many features you need. Here's a brief primer:

Techno & Global Buggy- full scale stroller w/ umbrella fold; full recline; 17 lbs.

Quest- travel stroller w/o all the features of the Techno; partial recline w/3 settings; extendable leg rest; 13 lbs.

Techno- travel model w/o extendable leg rest; partial recline w/ infinite settings b/c adjusted with a strap; 11 lbs.

Volo- Think tall umbrella stroller w/ mesh seat and carry strap for your shoulder; 2004 and earlier models don't come with shade (unless you buy the accessory pack); no recline; 7-9 lbs.

Other, less popular, but good umbrella-fold strollers for WDW:

Chicco C5, Chicco London, Chicco Tuscany, Chicco Cady
Silver Cross Micro, SC Mini
Inglesina Zippy
Peg Perego Pliko P3

We have a Volo for our DS who is 2 and love it. He doesn't nap when we are out so that is not an issue for us. Also you may want to consider a Mac Truimph it is close to the same size as the Volo but does have the recline feature.

What out if you consider a Silver Cross I was reading a stroller board and they have pulled out of the US market so if you have a problem you may be stuck.

We had a Peg Perego P3 before the Volo and IMHO it is too much stroller for a toddler in that it is big compared to the volo and heavy.

We bought a Techno XT from allbee baby for about $135 less than Babies R Us!!!!!!!

It is lightwieght, folds very easily and has adjustable handles which DH 6'4" loves! I can't wait to take it to WDW!!

Silver Cross of the UK is still honoring the warrantee for the US models (just got new hubcaps for my pram), but yes, the company is looking for a new US distributor.

I finally did it. I ordered a Maclaren Triump stroller today via the internet. :surfweb: Thanks so much for all the help. I really don't know why it was such a big deal or maybe because I just wanted to make sure that spending over $100.00 was going to be worth it.      :l

I dont know anything about the singles. We only have a double, but wanted to tell you, depending on the size of your child you might want to buy a shade extender on ebay. They have usually a UV rating of 50, and its really needed on these strollers. Their shades dont do well for the under 3 crowd.
