and I know I can't keep changing my mind and don't have too much time to keep changing. Who else keeps changing their mind on which resort to stay at. Who has already changed it around a few times?? Besides the normal $$$ issues, what is your reason for upgrading or downgrading resorts??

I swore I wouldn't make a ressie until I was sure, BUT I made the ressie and have changed twice in the last two days. I want planning this trip to be fun and not stressful, so hopefully I am done changing. Id' like to move on to dining ressie's now, but we'll see. I am still not 100% sure on my pick.

I have changed resorts and dates many times! Can't help myself. Can't seem to decide either when to book charactor meals etc....

When my brother and I were little we always stayed at the moderate resorts, mainly POfq but we stayed once at POR. When we got older and that whole "i'm not sleeping with him" issue came up mom and dad surprised us with a castle view at Poly and we haven't gone back to a moderate or value since then. For us its just easier to have the daybed or the bunkbeds at WL where we have stayed the past 3 trips.

That is our main reason for staying at Deluxe and for the fact that the pool areas are nicer and my dad loves the lobby and enclosure of WL. When we stayed at Poly they were doing major construction and our stay was nice but could have been better!

If we stayed at a moderate or value we would have to get 2 rooms so we spend for one room and cram into it for a week but as others who stay at mod or value, you aren't in the room that much so we make due for the week and are just thankful we can still convince mom and dad to take us!!

Well I am back to staying at BWI and my family all agrees that we are going to be really happy there. I hope so :cheer2:

If it was just me or me and DS, no problem, we would book BWI deluxe Concierge Level and let it go at that. However, when I add my DH, DStepdaughter and her boyfriend, it requires 2 rooms and my hubby refuses to pay the price for two rooms at BWI so its the Swan for us.

we have stayed at value once, and moderate the other 7 times. this will be our first in a Deluxe. the WL this time... main reason is location, and pool. ok and size of room (1 bdr). and we hear the resort is beautiful at Christmas time.
our favorite moderate is CSR

Besides money issues, I may change my mind based on location. Like what park do we plan to spend the most time in? We're going for a couple days over Memorial weekend, and I decided on the Boardwalk due it's close proximity to Epcot and DTD.

seriously, I've changed my resort so many times! It's always between the GF, Contemp, and the Poly. We just kept upgrading the rooms and upgrading the rooms until we were in Concierge at the GF. Then I realized I wanted my view so we went with the MK view at the GF.

I consider myself "Queen" of the resort changers. :rotfl:

My dh just put his foot down and said we're staying where I booked last and that's that. :)

We always change our minds mainly based on cost and location. Example:

We started planning our July trip in December last year. First, we wanted to stay at Poly, but then we decided that MIL wouldn't like it because the different buildings. Then, we decided on AKL because we never have stayed there before. However, with two kids we probably would be spending most of our park time at MK, which AKL is very far from. Finally, we decided on WL because everything is in one building, it is very close to MK, and we've stayed there before so we know what to expect.

I guess it's personal preference really. Who's in your group, where you will be spending the most time, and the layout of the resort.

I've changed resorts so many times this trip. We started out w/ AKL then went to mod then got the 40% code. Changed back to AKL then changed to Poly. Ran into some extra expenses and went from Poly to ASMu. Changed to CBR because I just couldn't do ASMu this trip, didn't have the mindset for this trip. Then I thought I'll shorten the trip by one day since the weekend of Night of JOy will be busier and we can check out on Sat instead of Sunday and stay at AKL.

We're staying put, no more changes. My DH says they play rock, paper, scissors and the loser has to take my calls. My mom says that they recognize my # and put me on speakerphone and make fun of me.

I've been just as bad w/ ADRs.:sad2: I think I've finally gotten it together!

Oh, I'm so happy I'm not alone. :)

We are going through this right now.. We are set to stay 4 night at POR...but was considering changing to 3 nights at POLY.

We are going to disney in May for 8 days at the POP.
So, I was thinking we would really like to stay at the POLY and wouldn't be able to afford it without the free dining... so if we cut back to 3 nights we could swing it...
I would love to see the light show and fireworks from the beach!!! There is myself and DH and 4 kids under 10.

Any thoughts???

This is our very first trip to WDW and more than likely is not a trip we'll be able to repeat anytime soon. We have free r/t tickets from a previous trip gone bad, and we got a great tax return this year, so we decided to spare no expense on where to stay.
We started with GF, because that's where I wanted to stay. I started reading about Epcot resorts, decided to split our stay with BWI. We watched the Travel Channel and decided we had to stay at the AKL, so we added 2 days to our trip. THEN...DH watched the planning video that we ordered and decided he wants to stay at YC. I did end up adding 2 more days to our trip, so now we're up to 10 days at WDW.
I wonder if the CM's have me in some special file designated for pain in the butt guests?? And I wonder how many of you are in that file with me? :rotfl:

When we went in 2005, my DH and I wanted to make the whole trip a magical one for our 2 little princess: princess: . We originally booked at ASMO and for awhile that is what we were going to do. Then one night my DH and I thought it out and said that we would like to move up to a mod so I called and booked CSR. Well, as I was on the phone with the CM, my DH happen to be on the WDW website and saw WL. He fell in love with the whole atmosphere with the resort and plus they had a balcany and was close to MK, which is where we were going to be spending most of our time at. So back on the phone I was booking our stay at WL...once I was off the phone with Disney, I turned around to my DH and said...O.K. enough, no more....I was just so happy we went from a value to a Delux  , which I didn't think we would of done in a million years....my DH can be a cheapskate sometimes. Luckily, this time around we had already chosen the place that we wanted to stay on our last trip so I booked at POR and we are sticking with it.

Even though we've been to WDW several times, we will be staying on property for the first time in June. I started out thinking I would book a value...after all, how much time are we going to spend in the room? Then I found the DIS, and started reading about other options. Decided POFQ sounded perfect for the 2 of us...quiet, small, possible to take a boat ride. Great! Then I got on the WDW website, discovered the DDP, and realized I could do Wilderness Lodge for just a little more than POFQ, and not have to suffer with a double bed. Perfect! That seemed like the choice for us, so I finally made a reservation.

Meanwhile, over in the indecisive part of my brain, there's this irritating little voice talking to me..."You know you've always liked the looks of the Yacht & Beach Clubs. How much more could it be?" Finally I decided to shut the voice up. I found that for only $175 more we could stay at the resort I've wanted to stay at since I ate there in the early 90's...the Yacht Club. Needless to say I found myself on the phone with the CRO AGAIN so I could change my reservations from WL to YC. The only thing I had to give up was a "view." Our room at the WL was a courtyard, and I booked a standard view at the YC.

I think I'll leave well enough alone now. I feel like the YC is going to be a good fit for us...it's just the 2 of us, we'll only be spending one day in the MK, and I love the proximity to World Showcase from the resort.

I just called CRO again. DH saw me making a spreadsheet for the parades and EMH's and trying to arrange a schedule since we wouldn't be parkhopping. Reason being when we upgraded to AKL from CBR we lost one night and park hoppers. DH rolled his eyes and said, "call and add park hoppers, it's senseless for you to be making a spreadsheet." Little does he know I'll still have to have my cheat sheet to remember what night Spectromagic will be going on! I'm too excited!

I told the CM that I wish I had a penny for every time I called them, our trip would be paid for by now. And while I had her on the phone and had park hoppers why not change one of my ADRs:rolleyes1 wasn't able to get Lecellier but got Coral Reef.
