A postcard arrived yesterday and I was able to figure out how I got it.

About 2 years ago I book 2 rooms at AS Sports. I put my SIL as the first name on the second room. It is from that ressie that this postcard originated.

I know for sure because it's got my address with her name on it.

The rates are for $49 value and $79 Mods.

I know how my granddaughter got hers, too. We were at PO Riverside in December, and DH thought it would be fun for her to get some mail from Disney. He filled out one of those cards they have in the lobby with her name and address (except that he got the apartment number wrong, he put #1 instead of #4, and now we live in #1 and the postcard was delivered to us!). It's the only time we've done that.

Last week, she received a postcard! She's four years old, and she's so excited that they're all going back to WDW because of her! She's even learned to print her name in case she has to sign any paperwork. Yes, my DIL called WDW and explained that she's only four, and after the wonderful CM stopped giggling, she agreed that the PIN was for the entire family.

In any case, we're all heading back to WDW with a combination of postcard and email discounts, AP's in hand, to enjoy a pre-Christmas vacation.

I received a postcard yesterday to my address with my sister's name. I was able to apply it to my December trip to Pop Century! ::yes::

That is so strange! I got a postcard yesterday and it had my first name wrong.

Hmmm...maybe this is a trend. We got a postcard (found it in the pile of mail waiting for us when we returned from our last Disney trip) addressed to my husband. The first name was wrong, though similar-sounding, and the surname was mangled, but we got the rate for December so I don't care!

I got mine at work with my maiden name on it.

I ordered a vacation planning video in 2001 with this address.

I didn't get one at home with my married name even though we stayed at the GF on our honeymoon.

My mother received a postcard yesterday. This is her first one and she hasn't stayed onsite for over 5 years. She did just sign up for the Disney visa a few months ago, so this is probably how she got the postcard.

My oldest son just got a catalog sent to him in his name. However the last name was not correct....maybe we have a postcard coming! :)

Well I'm REALLY stumped! We got a postcard at our current address but it was in my Maiden name! Now we didn't live in that house prior to me getting married. Nor did I ever order a planning video at my prior address.

I'm stumped!

I fit in on this one. We got one yesterday with my address and my daughter's boyfriends name from 5 years ago. He went with her and the ressie was in her name, but he was the "other" adult in the room. He's long gone, but the postcard came to my house. Go figure.

My mother just got one. She stayed on site 3 years ago. The weird part: my parents JUST moved, and the card was addressed to their new address. How in the world would Disney have gotten that brand-new address???

:faint: :crazy2: :duck:  :scratchin :scared: :tilt: :scared1: :rolleyes1 :confused3

This is the craziest thread!!!! WDW seems all skrewed up in the postcard dept!

:duck: :duck: :duck: :duck:

She's even learned to print her name in case she has to sign any paperwork.

Well, THAT is just adorable!

I didn't get a postcard but I did get an email with the same rates as the postcard had!

Got a postcard yesterday, too.Hope we get one when we will need it, in April or May!

I work for a Credit Card company & we often use third party vendors that compile lists of names that we use to solicit new business... many of them use data that would target a specific group of people that may be interested in the particular credit card program - It is possible that Disney is doing the same thing for their postcards to drum up new business.. that would explain the mispellings & address variances...
Just a thought

When I went to my Mom's house there was a postcard there addressed to me. I haven't had anything Disney mailed or shipped there since I was married back in 1996. Since then I have stayed at 3 different Disney resorts and gone on 2 Disney cruises which were billed to my current address. I was able to use this postcard even though the address was my Mom's.
I'm so excited to go to Disney during December! :Pinkbounc

I don't care how I got one. I am just thrilled that I did! We are going to Disney anyway. Had planned to stay at Residence inn but CSR will be so much more fun!!! And...the best part is that it will actually cost less!

Were there any postcards for Deluxe or just Value and Mod's?

Im hoping for a postcard or an email that I can apply towards our Nov/Dec trip!

Were there any postcards for Deluxe or just Value and Mod's?

The postcard that said value and moderate is also good for deluxe resorts - we booked Poly concierge with it for December at about $90 off value season rack rate.

I've gotten 3 postcards from WDW in the last week. The first one was addressed to someone named Laura something, but to the house i've lived in for almost 15 years! The second one was for buying DVC & getting a "free vacation", addressed to my DH & 3rd was for a Family Pin Gathering addressed to me. We've been lucky enough to get cards several times, but only once when we actually had a trip planned. That was our $124/night at AKL, upgraded to Savannah View! Love those postcards :earsboy:
