but please stop for a few hours already.

We really want to go to Universal Studios this morning to see what we missed but here it is nearly 11am and it's still raining.
The kids are really picking on each other and going stir crazy but they don't want to go out in it again after being stuck in yesterdays downpour sideways rain.

After spending 2 hours in the laundry room trying to get their only pairs of tennis shoes dry, I'm not too keen on repeating that again today.

The cleaning folks took all the newspaper I was saving up to use to get the shoes dry faster. Next time, I'll be putting it all in a drawer so we have it when needed.

I think the kids have learned their lesson though - when I say to bring 2 pair of tennis shoes, listen to me.

We leave early tomorrow morning to go home so I really want that last little bit of park time today.

The new Hollywood drive in mini golf is alot of fun. The alien invasion section is easier so if you have inexperienced mini golfers that would be the one to start at.

The nighttime show at Universal Studios is great. I wasn't sure what to expect but we really liked it.

The kids suite at Royal Pacific is great. It's nice to have room to spread out and 2 TV's.

I guess I'll go start packing up now. Might as well take care of that this morning.

sorry to hear about the rain.. but sounds like you were able to get out a little bit.

I think the rain chances go down this afternoon and the rest of the week. We've had that storm Beryl bringing all the rain for the past couple of days but it should move out soon.

That's why we bring ponchos and flip flops, problem solved. :thumbsup2

Yep. Ponchos, sandals, and a glass as half full attitude (rain = fewer crowds and not so hot weather). These are the things you must bring with you to Florida.

if this is your last park day, don a poncho and go for it.

shoes will evenually dry.
(or you could buy flip flops for the kids)

Run by Wally World and get some water shoes for the kids - they are around $12 per pair. Then get some 98 cent ponchos (sporting goods aisle) and you're set. :)

We finally got out of the room when the rain slowed at 11:30a.

I was thinking of going out to buy them some flip flops but both kids said they wouldn't wear them. My kids are tennis shoes all the way.

We did the rest of the stuff we wanted to at Universal Studios and then the kids got whiny again and started snipping at each other because they wanted to go back to the room after 3 hours so I sent them back (one teen, one pre-teen so I knew they could handle it) and stayed in the park myself for another hour. That sure was nice!

They asked to go to Margaritaville for supper so I just booked us an early priority seating and then we plan to head over to Islands of Adventure for a couple of hours this evening since we are mostly packed to leave tomorrow. Luckily we've already had a whole day there - we just want to hit some favorite rides and I want to try getting some night pictures.

It's overcast but not raining so I think we'll be ok.

I discovered that 4 days seems just right to me at US/IOA but it's too long for my kids. At Day 3, they started getting ornery.

We even tried to go to Hollywood Studios on Sunday for Star Wars Weekends to change things up and that didn't go well at all. It was hot, crowded and we ran late so we missed out on the prime early morning touring time there. My kids got grumpy real fast so we ended our day early and went back to Royal Pacific. The kids to the room, me straight to the pool bar.

I ought to get my act together and write a trip report about this trip. Those with kids will sympathize and those without will be glad they don't have any. :rotfl:

Im a local and rain would not keep me from going to US. Rain is better than heat!

I suppose I can understand why locals say that but when you live in a country that sees little sun and lots of rain - we have had two summers with very poor weather, when we come on vacation for a couple of weeks, we want the sun (and heat)
