Always quiet - Hoppy Birthday. I can remember at 18 thinking 30 was OLD. At 30, anyone 50 was over the hill. At 50, 70 looked like the end.
Turning 60 in June was a shock -- even at 59 it didn't bother me, but there's something about 60! I can draw social security in 5 years! (IF there's any SS left!)
It bothered me for about ten minutes. Then I started looking for senior citizen discounts, etc., joined AARP so I can get their discounts...might as well enjoy my "golden" years (the alternative is grim!) Just heard that Gregory Hines died at age 57..... so I've got him beat. I'm going to hold out for Bob Hope's age of 100.
I guess you're only as old as you feel (after a 14 hour shift at work, I feel about 70 the next morning, but a little movement, a cold diet coke, and I'm ready to face the world).
In fact, I'll be ready to face the world (Walt Disney World) in December and be a kid again. Come on, Tower of Terror!
