I just purchased a New Vacuum Cleaner

I got a Hoover WindTunnel Self Propelled (recommended in top three by Consumer Report Magazine). It is an upright cleaner. My last vacuum was a canister - should the upright be harder to push?

If it is like my MIL's... It works like a dream! Fingertip easy, self propelled both forward and back.

A little loud, but a great vac.

I have the Hoover self propelled, as long as you have the self propeller on it will be very easy to push. BTW, you are going to absolutely LOVE that vacuum!

self-propelled is why it's easier to push.

We just purchased a WindTunnel V2 without the self-propel, works like a dream but does not glide across the carpet like it weighs nothing. I wish it had swivel wheels to move a bit easier. It has been a superior cleaner and I can't believe how much dust I've collected in the two since we bought it. YUK

I love my hoover self propelled. the one I have is almost 22 yrs old and that think works like I just got it yesterday. when my son was smaller he threw up so bad I even tried using it to clean the mes up, I thought I ruined it, NOPE, I wouldn't buy anything else again other then a hoover.

I recently bought a new vacuum also. It's an Oreck. I Love it! It's so light that I can literally pick it up and run up the steps with it. It also has a small base, and cleans under beds and furniture with ease. I know 2 people that have had their Orecks for almost 20 years now!
