I hope I choose the right one....I hope ordering it through the mail was the right thing to do...I ended up ordering from Amazon.com I bought a fuji s6000.
My only concern is the return policy. If I do the rebate, $50 must be mailed in and rec'd by fuji by Feb 12th Amazon won't return it if there is a problem. Not sure how it works if it is broken or something. They have a 30 return policy. I do understand why. But I guess I worry about what if I end up hating it...so then I don't send the rebate in so I have my 30 day grace period....but if I love it then I am out 50 bucks! I hope it doesn't get damaged during shipping......As you can tell I have never ordered a camera before...always bought them from Ritz! But they wanted $499 and amazon was $379! Before rebate!

Congratulations! I think you will be *delighted* with the S6000fd, based on all I have read and heard. Hope you ordered (or already have) some memory cards and rechargeable batteries. I have two 512MB xD cards and two full sets (8 total) of NiMH AA size batteries, although I have never exhausted the batteries, even in a heavy day of shooting.

I would advise you to get familiar with your new camera as soon as possible, by reading the manual and trying different settings, etc, as you do so. With digital, of course, there is no real penalty to shoot as many test shots as you want to, in order to familiarize yourself with the camera. The last thing you want to do is to have to thumb thru the manual while you are at WDW or any vacation/photography venue, in order to figure out how to do something. In fact, if you want to start the learning process even before the camera arrives, you can download a PDF version of the manual here: http://www.fujifilmusa.com/JSP/fuji...71&sscucatid=664272&NavBarId=SIBrochure856004

One final note, FWIW: The S6000fd has a "chrome" setting that gives you increased color saturation (i.e., "pop"), the same as the S5200 that I have. I set my camera to "chrome" early in my experimentation stage and have never gone back. Give it a try; I'm betting you will like it.

Be sure to post some pix here when you get a chance.

I loved my s5100.....I almost went with the 5200 but this one just seemed so nice and not that much more cost wise!
Believe me I will be using it ALOT! I think on average I use my camera about 5 times each week!
I already have 2 sets regargeable batteries and 3 xd cards............I hope with the fact that it is manual zoom the batteries last even longer!

shouldn't you have a warranty from fugi? i'd try it out now and then send it in i a week..you ought to have time for both and if it's broken or something you'd know by then. are you sure it has to be in and not purchased by the 12TH? usually the rebates have about a month or so after they are over to get sent in( well i know at least canon and most of the card rebates i have gotten did)if not it would be worth overnighting fora few bucks for $50 to me:)... if amazon gave you a long shipping i think sometimes they exaggerate..they told me somethng wouldn't come for almost a month and i had it in a few days(not that i was complaining)

The rebate ends Jan 31st needs to be post marked by 2/14.
It should be shipped out on Monday. So I will have at least a week to play iwth it!
It will still have the fuji warrenty if something goes wrong iwth the camera. I guess I am more conerned if I don't like it. Or get one that is just bad...which can happen....
