If anyone is interested in ING they must PM someone with their request giving their first and last name and email address.

We are not suppose to ask for or offer referrals on the boards.

I am depositing part of my daughter's allowance into their ING account. Come November they should have their OWN spending money for our trip! I think these accounts are WONDERFUL!!!!

I am also going by the bank today :) I just love saving this way...I usually have a very hard time saving....

Sorry if this question was asked before.

Does any one know if this account can be limked to paypal AND be verified?

I have a checking account through GreenPoint that is my primary paypal account. However, there is no way to use that account to get verified using that bank account. I think it has something to do with the bank and electronic confirmations.

Anyone know if you can get verified throough Paypal with a ING account? Anyone with experience with this?

Thanks.

I don't know for sure but I highly doubt it. It says on their website that it must be a checking account and you must provide the bank name, the account number and the rounting number.

You also cannot link to a savings.

Sorry but that's all I know. I do doubt it though.

Maybe it would just be easier to include the text of THIS POST right here:
Well, seems as if the ING "Thing" is becoming a hot topic once again on the boards. And there has been some discussion on what we do and don't want to see on the boards.

Let me tell you my interpretation on what we don't want to see on the boards regarding the ING "Thing."

We know that once people find out about ING and the "free" money for referrals, everyone is excited and eager to "share the wealth." Even more so, we know that people are eager to have people help them to get $10 for a referral.

But we do not allow people to solicite others on these boards to get or give referrals.

That means no
"PM me for more information about ING."
"IM me for more information about ING."
"Would someone PM me a referral?"
"Would someone e-mail me a referral?"
"I just opened my account and I have 25 referrals left. PM me for more information."
And so on and so forth. I think that you get the idea.

If you are interested in getting a ING referral e-mail then it is your responsibility to contact someone who may have one. If you see someone who is involved in discussing the merits of an ING account, you can be pretty sure that they have referrals to spare. You can PM (Private Message) or e-mail someone for information. You can PM or e-mail someone by using the appropriate button below their name.

If you have referrals to spare and are interested in others contacting you for one, you have the ability to receive e-mails or Private Messages from the boards by turning on these options in your User CP. You do not need to tell people to PM you, or to post your e-mail address in a post. If you choose not to get pop up notifications for your PMs, then you can just check your User CP regularly.

An occasion personal message is not a problem - for instance, sometimes someone's PM Inbox is full. (There is limited storage of PMs - both received and sent - so you need to delete unneeded ones every so often. ) You may see someone posting a message to that person that they need to "clean house."
But to constantly see people pointing out to others that they have sent so-and-so a PM or e-mail, or have received a PM or e-mail is not necessary since this all can be done - how else? - through e-mail or PM.

The ING "Thing" really IS a great thing. (Hey! Even *I* FINALLY jumped on the bandwagon a few months ago and I have been saving monthly with it. ) And we all want to make a few extra dollars. But we must be fair. And this is the best way that we know of to do so.

I hope that I have clarified things somewhat for all of you. If you have any questions on any of this, feel free to ask.

BethR

I think enough is enough. Don't mean to flame anyone, but it appears that the OP continually posts something to keep this thread at the top of the board. No doubt she could benefit from many referrals as could numerous others. There is enough information on this ING topic here and elsewhere to answer ANY question people have. Just my opinion.

Good Morning, I just wanted to point out that I think this thread has been very informative on ING banking. I have to say I saw the ING thread about a month ago and never clicked on it because I just did not know what it was. I am glad we got involved and opened our own ING savings account. Where else can you open a savings account for as little as 1$ and get 25$. Yes by sending out the referral link we do get 10$ for signing someone up but the 25$ bonus money goes to the person opening the account. It makes me feel good to see someone else get the 25$ bonus money. I was thrilled to get the 25$ when I signed up and happy someone sent me the link :) We are here to help each other and that is what I believe this thread is doing :)

Have a great Thursday everyone

I'm so glad I read about this on the board. I am a skeptic, so I definitely thought it would be too good to be true. But, less than a month after opening my account, I have $81 in my account, and my three children each have $26 in theirs....not a bad month's work if you ask me
:D

Thanks to all of the people who have provided information that this is real, and not just a scam. Word of mouth can definitely be a good thing in this case :D I am now on my way to saving for a Disney trip next year.

I have another question. It may have been answered before, and I just missed it. To refer your children to sign up, do they have to have their own e-mail addresses or can you send them a referral e-mail to your address???

Thanks.

When I opened mine several months ago, I used different email addresses for each of us but I remember there was a long thread about ING back then (where I learned about ING!) and I remember very well someone posting that you can use the same email addresses! That thread was since deleted...

You can definitely use the same email address, you can also use the same bank account number. I did both, and no problem getting the bonuses. Just make sure the kids are the primary account holder, with you as the joint holder. SO EASY!

I had a great idea this morning for using one of our ING accounts. Our car insurance comes due every 6 months, and it's always a pain to come up with $700 at once. I'm going to start using my DH's ING account to put that money away every month. I'll split it into 6 even payments, and have the money transferred automatically to his account (which he doesn't have access to because he doesn't use the internet much). We'll make 2.10% interest on it, and it will be there when we need it. I'm not even going to tell him I'm doing this. Next Jan when the car insurance bill comes, I'll surprise him and say "Oh, don't worry honey, I have that money already." He'll be so happy! I just started selling discounted magazine subscriptions on ebay, so I can use that money to put aside.

I'm also going to ditch my no interest paying credit union christmas club account and use my ING account instead. I'll keep a little money in the credit union just to keep the account open, but while ING is paying great interest, I'm going over there.

I could use another account as a vacation account, but DH likes saving for that in his passbook savings account.

No wonder ING is so willing to give away $35 for each account opening ($10 + $25). Look how excited we all are about their product!! Banks would kill to have people talking excitedly on the internet about their services!

Great idea sorchamac! I was even thinking that we could escrow our property taxes and homeowners insurance ourselves this way and earn interest on it!

I am so excited about this, now I just have to get my husband to open an account! He's a bit leary about the whole concept.

His company will only directly deposit his paychecks into one account so we only have it going into checking. This makes it hard to discipline ourselves to put a certain amount into savings each week. I'd love to set up an automatic deposit each week to do this.

Actually that's a great idea too. Right now I just keep ours at home in a safe box. I might think about putting that in the ING account too. The only thing is that since 9/11 I like knowing I have some cash in the house "just in case".

My bank had merged recently and getting my account set up was a little more work than I would have liked but everyone I spoke to on the phone was great. My account is up and running and have entitled it my cruise vacation account.

So far the experience and service has been great.

Yes, You can use the same email address. I used the same email account to open up joint members on the same account.
