I didn't have to verify my DD's account since I was the joint owner and I already had an account, plus she was a minor. Make sure to sign your children up as the primary and you as the secondary. Also, their accounts will show up under your account since you are listed as joint owner. Hope this makes sense...

I did however, had to verify DH when I signed him up.

I have not been able to refer people using my children's joint account... I think the referrals all come out of the same account no matter how many people are on the account. You are allowed 25 referrals per account not per member on the account. Has anyone else had any other experience besides this ????

I think i only have 25 referrals as well. I have all of our accounts under me so instead of having 25 each i think i have 25 for all of us.

yep, it is--what other bank would give you $250 for referring people to open accounts with them???

YES! You sure can use your children's accounts for referrals if you max out on your account. What you have to do to see your children's referrals available is log in with THEIR account number, NOT yours. Each child absolutely has 25 referrals but you only can see them if you log in using their info and not your own.

I've done it and it definitely works!

Nope, just log in under your child's account with THEIR account number and you will see another 25.

For every account number, there are 25 referrals, you just need to log in with that person's account info!

That is great that you get 25 referrels for the kids too.

I have used some of mine and none of DS. So I have plenty of referrels to give out. I just hope they do not discontinue the program. That is 500 in free money.

Also remember they treat the referrels as interest. So use the kids first and you do not have to pay taxes on it.

Now I want to refer my DW... She will have the same checking account but I want her to have a different ING account so that I can A) get the $10 and B) allow her to get the $25 bonus.

Will it allow me to sign her up from scratch (using my referal link of course) and let me be Joint on her account? Or does she have to open a single account like I did?

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you cannot be joint with another adult and still each get the $25. although you can and must be joint with a minor.

You can, however, use the same checking account for linking.

I just remembered this (and posted it on the other ING thread just in case) and I thought I'd share with any of you who have not opened an account yet and are thinking about it, about another way to get the ING new account bonus and it's for $50!

If you own Turbo Tax or Microsoft money you can also open an account with ING and get $50 bonus!!! It can only be done once and you'd need the Serial Number found in "About Microsoft Money" or probably in the box it came in as well. That serial number can only be used once.

Then from that opened account, you can go ahead and refer the rest of your family and get the $25/$10 bonuses.

I am now on my way to saving for our next trip! Now I will be sending everyone I know a refferral so that they can benefit, too. I can't wait until my dad gets his. He is so skeptical, he doesn't believe that you can open up an account with no minimum balance and get $25. I didn't tell him about the $10 I get - he can only take so much at one time

Actually, you can as this is what I did. I opened my own individual account, then opened a joint account with my husband as primary and me as secondary (I wanted to have access to his account ). We both got bonus money. I got $25 for opening mine, he got $25 for opening his and I got the $10 referral money for referring the account to him.
