Types of accounts:
1)Individual accounts. an individual account is an account in the name of the depositer only.Only that person can make withdrawels or transfers from the account.
2)joint accounts. A joint account is owned by two persons.
husband and wife or parent and child.

At this time you can get a referral from someone who is already an account holder and when you make your initial deposit( can be as little as $1) you will get $25 you will not get the $25 if you sign up through the website you must get a referral and most of us on this board have them so just PM or email someone and if they have a referral they'll be glad to send you one in your email , you must give your full name and email address for a reply.Do not post on the board asking for a referral, it will not be honored.By the way, beside the $25 for signing up, you have 25 referrals that you too can give out and when someone signs up under you they get $25 and you get $10 so, that's $250 for referring people

I just counted and wrapped DD's (age 4) pennies the other day.

She managed to have $37.00. I couldn't believe it. She was so happy to see her ING balance after I deposited it.

She thought it was a lot and asked if we could go to Disney now since she saved a lot of money...her balance was only $63.00.

I can only imagine what she will rack up in the next 3 years. She'll end up having more money than us. Last year when we went, she had $260 that she saved in only 9 months. She would sucker the grandparents into giving her $3 (don't know why that amount) everytime she saw them.

Wish that would work for me and I'm their flesh and blood. I was always told: money don't grow on trees, get a job, what do you think I'm made of. Well for her, it's "here honey, of course you can have some". Parents...

Your child should be the PRIMARY and you SECONDARY. You start plugging in the info for your child and then it will ask for your account number. They will be joint but your child must be the PRIMARY.

I'm so excited!!! I just opened my account and wanted to say thanks for all the great info and help on opening the account! I had been "hiding" away money for my 2 week Disney cruise next spring but I will be much happier having it in the account where it can grow a little -- and I won't forget where I hid it .

It will know they are a minor (based on their birthdate) and not ask for their driver's license. You can use the same checking for all the accounts you open up. Also after you've verified your account, you will NOT have to verify again for the minors which is nice!

Remember minor is Primary and adult is secondary.

I have another question about signing your kids up. Once you have established an account for yourself, can you then use your own referrals for your kids.
So let me see if I get this.. I sign up for an account get a referral from a DIS member,- get $25 in my account for making a deposit. Then each member of my family can do the same using my referrals?

If you sign up with ING you get $25.00 deposited into your account and for everyone you refer and they sign up, you get another $10.00. I signed up my husband and two daughters and received $55.00 total and they each got their $25.00.

I doubt there is a limit. I haven't heard of any. I signed up my 2 DDs, DH and my nephew and myself all with the same checking account.

I don't think ING cares!

To start the account- should I get the referral first then go to the website or set it up thru the ing website and then get a referral? I'm a little foggy on the start process. If I get a referral, will that then lead me to a link to sign up?

You MUST use the email you get from an ING customer that has the $25 bonus offer in it or you will not get the bonus!!

Within the referral email you will see the link to use!

I just signed up (Thanks Beattyfamily) and I know I am going to love this account. My bank was only saving .95%APR so this 2.1% APR is going to rock.


Now i have to roll up all the change in our Mickey Tub and send it to the bank so that we can transfer the money into this new account!
